Same thing, still no reply from CIC, I lost all hope. I am not gonna even bother trying to call anymore, and gonna book my ticket and if I am approved then good if not I will find out the steps to immigrate to Vietnam permanently. Thank you all for your kind words and I bid you guys farewell and wish that all your applications are the opposite of mines. I wish that all of you have a smooth process in your application stages.

Good luck!!!! I hope things work out for you.
Go and see your son!
All the best!

Hello Everyone in December thread.
After sending off my documents Dec 19th from Beijing, the computer has finally come to life with some acknowledgement of our application. My wife and daughter's application is now back in Beijing as of February 8th and they request their passports.
Very exciting. Now the wait part two comes into play.

Anyway, happy to be finally able to update my profile and see how my family is doing in the queue with the rest of you.

Kind regards

Hello CanKazakinChina and congrats!

I have a question to everyone. Have you paid the Right for Permanent Residence fee (490$) together with application fee or are you waiting for request from CIC?

We didn't pay the fee with application and I am wondering if it's better to pay now, will it speed up everything? And who to pay to? VO or CIC Canada?

You can pay online... and send it if you already have your file number.... If you haven't paid the RPRF it will delay the application for two months see below...

If you pay the Right of Permanent Residence Fee at the same time you pay the processing fees, it will facilitate processing as we will not have to contact you later. If you do not do so, you will be asked to pay this fee when we are ready to issue the permanent resident visa. Failure to pay the fee at the time of submission of the application will result in a minimum additional two-month delay in the finalization of the application.

Check this website for reference http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/3900E8.asp hope this helps....

Cheers,
Kulilit

I swear that message was not there when we applied. I wish I had known you could pay the RPRF right away. I would have, but now I'm sitting here going on three weeks waiting for Mississauga to process the payment.
What I don't understand is that you pay online... shouldn't it automatically be able to go into your file? I just don't understand all the dilly dallying we have to do with paperwork just to pay it.

We sent in our Right for Permanent Resident fee at the start, along with the other fees. We thought that if we did get approved then we didn't want to delay things by a further 2 months by waiting to pay the fee later. They only give you such a short time (8 months or less) from being approved to relocating to Canada before your medical expires...we wanted as much time as possible to sort our life out here in the UK before heading to Canada (we hope heading to Canada :)).

And congratulations CanKazakinChina on your passport request. Very quick.

The London Visa office has had our application for almost a month now...I wonder what is happening and when we will hear something. I'm trying hard not to be excited about hopefully hearing soon...soon hopefully being in the next month (trying to stay easy going about the whole process).

Failure to pay the fee at the time of submission of the application will result in a minimum additional two-month delay in the finalization of the application.

So I failed to pay it at the time with submision #^%*@ :'( I think I didn't see that message before too!
88mv I agree with you. Dont understand 2month delay if paid online! Transfers are made the same day, banks are much faster in this century! It's not 80's!
It's probably won't hurt to pay it now as we have client # for our file, but should we pay to Missisauga and mail the receipt to VO in Warsaw?

Thanks Kulilit for information.

Sorry...posted in the wrong thread...LOL..
Had someone respond to my query on the main thread...

Hi everyone,

Things seem to be moving along...we got an AOR on ECAS today saying the application for permanent residence was received on 02/02/2011, and that the medical results have also been received. :)

Re: Thread for December 2010 Applicants - Hand delivery of passports

I am impressed with the system. They asked in a form letter for the passports, preferably mailed. I am not far from the Beijing embassy. I would like to hand deliver. Unable to get a answer from a phone becuase unable to speak to a person at the embassy, I get an email that gives me a standard reply which repeats "preferably by mail." No human answer to my specific question - CAN I HAND DELIVER and where?
Currently, it is spring festival and I do not trust the post office to work. I can courier it all but it is problematic - the couriers do not speak English, neither me the sponsor or my wife being sponsored is Chinese, or writes chinese.

And it is easier for me just to drop the passports off. Somehow, one gets the impression to actually drop something off in person is too personal. Better to keep a third party between us and them.
And they prefer that I trust the passports to a third party, for which the Embassy will not acknowledge receipt of these rather precious documents (last time my wife renewed her passport she was without it for 7, (count it) 7 months.

alright, gripe time over. Are other embassies kinder?

I know with Buffalo, you can go to the embassy with your passport in person and the PR. Why don't you try going there and trying to submit it in person, if they don't do it, they simply won't and I guess then the last choice would be by post :S

Just wondering, the people with VO Buffalo, have any of you heard any news??? Our thread has been surprisingly slow lately, I was wondering if any of you can see some status on e-cas or got something in mail ??

@ CanKazakinChina - Welcome to the December thread! I have added your information to our spreadsheet, and I'm looking forward to tracking your progress. You're the second member in our group going through the Beijing office.

@ sparkle - No one in our thread going through the Buffalo office has heard anything - at least that they've posted here. :) I just checked my eCAS to see if there was anything new, and there's nothing. I'm not sure what's going on in Buffalo... maybe they're still celebrating the holidays? ;)

Weekly update tomorrow! Keep us updated on your progress.

LOL...yes that could be it ! They are still in the holiday mood :P I see that most of the people in November thread have got their AOR, so I was hoping to see some updates in our thread soon ! I am the last one for Buffalo, so hearing some good news from you all can give me some hopes ! :)
Good luck !
