Congrats on your approval, Jeff! I've updated our information for you and added your sent date, and your approval. That's 3/7 forwarded on to Buffalo from our group. :)
 
My application is now visible on e-cas with 'decision made', a letter was sent to me on January 13th.
Still it does not say if the sponsorship was approved or not.

I can also see 2 address:
- Your current mailing address: That one is correctly se to my current address in the US...
- Your home address: Montreal QC !!!! That i do not understand ! I mentioned that our intention was to move to Vancouver once my wife gets her PR... Hope whoever processed the demand did not wrongly set that we intend to land in Quebec !!! (which could add a little more delay)

Any comments on this home address issue ?

Soon we will all be approved and will have different VO's, so different processing timelines as well. It would not matter when the application received ::) ;)

I would like to return to the driver's license topic. Does anyone know if we can get one while "visiting" here?
It is so dificult sometimes when the doors are shut for you unless you are Permanent Resident: can't open bank account; can't have health insurance (except private, which only covers accidents); can't work; can't do many things you used to do in home country.
I know I know, it's only temporary and we can't complain about that, because it was our choice. :) I found a hoby to keep myself busy: working out and jewellery making 8)
 
I want to check update on my case using E-Case. I dont have the payment receipt number with me right now. What other options do I have to query?

@ Asif - Hi Asif. :) Without your receipt number or your case number I'm not sure you'll be able to. You may be able to call the CIC call center. However, they're closed on the weekend so you'd have to wait until tomorrow. All the same, here's the information for contacting CIC.

I can't tell you how excited we are to have found this forum. It was very frustrating to be told by the lawyer (who helped us put together my TRV application) that he didn't really know how long the PR application process would take. Check the embassy's website, he said. Of course that simply states that the wait is from 6 to 15 months in most cases. Then the immigration representative who helped us put together the PR application said the same thing. (We only paid her to check our completed package, not the full fee).
I'm a Mexican citizen, in Mexico, and my wife is in Ontario. We were ready to file for PR in August, as soon as she went back home after visiting me for 2 weeks, but while here she fell ill from a condition that should've been detected at least a year earlier (before we met). In any case, she made it back home for surgery and I had to stay behind. I was then denied the TRV and was told that they didn't believe I'd leave Canada.
Our application was received on December 6. My wife was approved as a sponsor on January 6 and a letter was sent out on the 10th. I tried to check the website services3.cic.gc.ca/ecas using the new Client ID number plus my info, but it hasn't worked yet. It only works with the receipt number and my wife's info.
Please add us to the list, and thanks for the updates.

i am living in Pakistan and my wife who is my cousin she is living in Canada. by birth.and our marriage is done on telephone..she send me sponsorship papers.

i want to know some questions...
my wife is sponsoring me..i want to know that my wife can be also representative of me..

my 2nd question is !!
i want to know that a representative and Sponsor can be ??

and 3rd question is!!
does telephone marriage is acceptable in Canada.

any one can tell me i am worried about it
i shall be very thankful to you...
