@ pinklady, yes I am very anxious and excited to see my son for the first time, but that makes my wait for 1st stage approval seem longer to me. Should get a reply from CIC within 10 days now if I am correct. Hoping for a approval so I can go right away to see my son and wife and stay there until the whole thing is done and come over to Canada together as a family. I pray everyday for no problems, no errors and no setbacks in my application.

@ garytheoiler, I think yours should be tomorrow or latest the day after. Or you can try calling the call centre like the others did in this thread and they seemed to get an answer before their ecas was updated. Because it seems that they are slow with updating the ecas system.

Hi NAFTA.couple. :) Congrats on your sponsorship approval! I've added you to my list. Are you going through the Mexico City Visa office? I agree, this board is a wealth of helpful information and moral support!

You might want to try logging in to eCAS using your client number and your wife's (the sponsors) surname, birthdate, and birth country. That's how I got mine to come up.

hi!!

i am living in Pakistan and my wife who is my cousin she is living in Canada. by birth.and our marriage is done on telephone..she send me sponsorship papers.

i want to know some questions...
my wife is sponsoring me..i want to know that my wife can be also representative of me..

my 2nd question is !!
i want to know that a representative and Sponsor can be ??

and 3rd question is!!
does telephone marriage is acceptable in Canada.

any one can tell me i am worried about it
i shall be very thankful to you...

Hello,

to answer a few of your questions. As long as telephone marriages are legally allowed in Pakistan, and it follows the legality of marriages in Canada, it is a valid form of marriage according to immigration. Your wife can be your representative, just make sure you fill out the representative form so that she is recognized as such. I think you were trying to ask who can be a sponsor and a representaive, anyone can be a representative, and a sponsor is someone whom you are married to, or have a common-law relationship with (ie - living for one year together like you are married or a conjugual partnership (so not married but living like you are, but usually because you cant get married legally - ie - same sex marriages in certain countries).

Thanks, quakingaspen.
Yeah, we're going through Mexico City. There aren't that many of us (at least since July), but the few who are there before us are sure gonna be followed very closely.

The hubby received the letter on Friday, Jan 14!!! They are sending our application to Buffalo. Sorry I haven't updated, was visiting my parents in Houston for a while. They asked for the medical exam form, and I have an appointment tomorrow then will overnight the form.

I know that's confusing. We had started the process for an inbound application while I was in Toronto last spring, but because of the lateness of my security letter, we had to change plans. In the meantime, I had already done a medical and submitted the form, but I guess it wasn't saved or attached to our outland package.

Anyway, hopefully it doesn't delay things too much. Yay!

Congrats Karla! I was wondering when we'd hear from you. :) Thank you for the update. I've added the information to our list. :)

@ pinklady, yup average of 35 days, Id call the CIC-M at around 35 days to see if they have your DM yet. Because the ecas system takes longer to update.

Just got back from the physical. Doctor told me he'd be sending the results to Ottawa by the end of the week barring any issues. However hubby told me that the letter he received stated I was supposed to send it myself...possibly? He has been really busy the past couple of weeks with his job, so I'm thinking he might have read it wrong, but I wanted to double check with the board on which procedure sounds right. Thoughts?

The DMP should've given you a form, pale green i think, with your photo on it. I think its just proof of the medical exam. You send that with the application. The results of your medical exam are sent to ottawa and requested by the VO when needed.

Hi Everyone!

I received my letter today. I mailed our outland application on December 10th and they mailed the acceptance letter January 13th. Now I wonder what the next step is?? I wonder how long until permanant resident card is granted?

Does anyone know if it is possible to be granted a visitors visa to visit my husband while we wait?

Have a great day all! :-*

@pinklady Thanks for the clarification. We need to send the green form to Buffalo then to catch up with the rest of the package. If the form does not have a photo on it, I'm assuming I need to send one in myself...? There's a piece of sticky paper on it that I figured they were going to use to attach the photo, but it's empty. Hmmm.
