I think that part of the problem for me is that I'm in Canada... I have seen a delay recently of 3 weeks for mail to get across the border. :-\ I think it's less now, but I wouldn't be surprised by a weeks delay.

I really am excited for you, though. That's about all the news we've had out of Buffalo this week, and it's good to know they're still in there working away! And grats on the no interview!
Thanks!

I'm in Canada as well, though. It shouldn't be a big delay.

Oo... That is good news! hehe The bad news is that the mailman already came today, and since this is Canadaland there is no mail tomorrow.

*settles in for a weekend of worrying*

What should we expect to receive by email and what should we expect to receive by mail (for Buffalo VO i mean) ?

+ AOR: email
+ IN PROCESS, MEDICAL DONE etc...: eCas
+ Document request if necessary : mail

Now...

+ Do we get some sort of assessment by mail shortly after the AOR ?
+ If interviewed is waived, do we get an letter about that ? (by mail) Or is it just part of the initial assessment ?
+ Some people get a letter to confirming 'no additional documents needed'. Is this systematic ?

Even reading through most popular forums i still find some aspect of the process confusing

hehe The only thing consistent about CIC is their inconsistency. :p

Generally, after the AOR you will be sent an IA - Initial Assessment. These generally seem to come by paper mail to the applicant. This is where they will tell you if an interview is needed or not (while reserving the right to change their minds), that your medicals have been received, if there are any more documents they need, and if there are any more fee payments they need from you.

However, some people have skipped the IA completely and just randomly receive a PPR. :p It happened to someone in the November thread recently.

...additional delays.

So I shared a few days ago that they entered my husband's address incorrectly. Thankfully it was only by one digit, and the doorman for his building recognized that he lives in the other building. We received a letter from Buffalo saying we do not have to do an interview but more information is required

In our initial application, we put on the form that my husband has one child. We wrote a letter explaining that he does not have contact with his son, and while we are required to list him on the applicantion we do not wish to include him with our application. We also indiciated that we realize this will prevent us from ever applying for his son. We also included an email from my husband to the mother of his child, asking if he could be including in the application, and she said NO. All communication must be sent thru her lawyer.

The letter we received from Buffalo is stating we need to include him in our application, and we need to do the medical for his son.

We thought we were clear that he is not to be included in our application. Any wors of advise?

HELP! :'(

Yikes. That is a tough one. I thought that if you were clear on the fact that you would not be able to sponsor those individuals at a later time then it wouldn't be a problem.

I don't know of anyone else in this thread who has delt with a situation like that. You might want to bring it up in the Buffalo thread, or start a new topic. I think you'll want the advice of someone more knowledgable and experienced.

Sorry for the setback. :(

Okay, guys. Look over this spreadsheet and let me know if something is missing or needs updating. I just went through all the posts since last friday, so I *think* I have it all.

Welcome to the new people to the thread! I'm glad to have you join us. :) Congrats to those of you who have finally received your PPRs. Soo jealous. I've got my fingers crossed for those of us still waiting that next week will bring news.

Thanks for adding us :)

That is what I keep telling anyone who asks how our application process is going. It's been a bit now since we received AOR but my wife hasn't received anything by mail yet. Ecas just says received so who knows. I try to mentally set periods of time before I start to worry so i have three weeks left before I start really wondering why I haven't heard if we're in process or what lol.

Bleh. I'm already worried. Now everyone who moved to "In Process" when I did has their Initial Assessments. Makes me wonder what I've done wrong.

I'd like to see the last members of our Buffalo group get their AOR's.

Honestly, though, I like to see everyone make progress. :)

I haven't even thought ahead to the assessment and whatnot... All I'm worried about right now is if my file actually made it to Buffalo! Gah!

I've been trying to avoid the forums and not compare my timeline with others so I don't get myself all wound up... Clearly I'm failing, haha.

Let's hope Monday brings good news for ALL of us! 8)

I completely relate. I've been checking the Buffalo spreadsheet every morning. I have to admit I'm totally addicted to it. In the end, it doesn't really make a big difference. Every case is different, and as others have mentioned, the CIC can be very inconsistent. :(

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for all of you. In the meantime, I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

Yea, CIC is really inconsistent as for example everyone got their 1st stage approval/Decision Made for outland applications within 2 months, but mines took over 3 months (thankfully it was approved in the end). So we can't really go with one timeline with the CIC.

Ive really bought my airplane ticket this time and it is for april 1,2011. Finally have the ticket in my hand and I am actually going and not just talking about going. Can't wait to hold my newborn son(not really newborn he is 5 months now) for the first time and be able to be there for him and my wife who has been through alot.

There's no mail on Saturdays in Canada?? I have been going out and checking the mail on Saturdays like a chump. My neighbors probably think I have no concept of date and time :p

I was wondering the same thing. I still get flyers and stuff on the weekends, so who knows.
