AOR - Acknowledgement of Receipt – the first official document that says the application for permanent residence status has been received.
PPR – Passport request – Immigration requests passport when they are ready to issue the visa.
DM - Decision made (waiting on letter to confirm)
VO - Visa Office


**I know that Friday is update day, but I wanted to post this new format and see how it looks. :) I'll post again on Friday. Congrats to everyone on their progress!

my sponsors ecas says they (I guess the VO?) received my application Jan. 20th - Medicals also received.

Hey Everyone,

Wow...both of my children are asleep at the same time (almost 2 year old and an almost 1 month old) so I've got a few moments to myself. Mind you, one is asleep in my arms, and I am one finger typing (taking ages :) ).

I checked ecas (finally). Had no problems logging in, and it said my husbands application for permanent residence was recieved on January 13th, 2011, and Medical also recieved.

Nice to know that the application is actually at the London visa office :D

I was just wondering about e-cas updates. How correct is it? Looking at our posts here I don't understand why some people get updates just now even tho their applications received in the begining of January? For excample yours whitehorsejk it said it was received Jan 13 and you got update just now, but mine was received Jan 17 and I got my update on e-cas week ago.

@ pinklady, I keep calling everyday and they keep telling me that there is no further information, except that they are checking me out and that they opened my application on the 24th of january. Its been 40 days already. Iam very worried, thank you pinklady for asking though.

What is their problem with your application? On the website, it says they are processing applications received on January 5th, 2011. So they should be done with yours. :(
 
@ nylalisa, They told me that they are checking me out still to see if I approved for sponsoring. The fact that it is taking longer then normal and they are way past the 24th makes me worry alot.

Lawyer submitted my wife application to come to Canada on dec 21.

I called immigration and no update, just in the dark.

Tried the e-cas to check status and no luck

Any day I hope.

really you have your ppr that was fast,how did you got it by regular mail or email? we have the same visa office but mine i will expect rprf first bec. we did not pay the 490, plus i have 2 kids maybe background check takes longer......hope not.
