Is it important to change last name in wifes passport
... my wife hs her original last name till now..... we have submitted the docs to change name but the govt office said it will take 3 months so waiting......

i agree....for chc nd....they look this in positive way...

Nope i did not...It is a pain in India hence i did not even attempt. You can always do it on passport renewal.

You can still change her SIN,Bank,Health card, DL and all other stuff once she lands here..
Need the original marriage certificate and in Ontario you do not need a legal name change, you can assume your hubbys surname and change all documents issued by Canada..check service ontario's website for name change after marriage.

Important Note - Never change your PR CARD surname unless the Passport also has the same name.
This might cause huge issues with immigration once you leave/enter the country.

File transfer: 14th Feb 2011. (AOR received via E-mail)
PPR: 3rd March, 2011
Application In prograss: 17th March 2011.
Decision Made: 22nd April 2011.
