YAYYYY...my wife got PPR today, Finally !

Its exactly 50 days now and i was worrying day by day....

Yesterday I tried to send the enquiry to New Delhi couple of times through their enquiry form:

It failed both the times.

I also manually sent the email with exactly the same format as the form to their email address delhi-im-enquiry @ international.gc.ca
It also failed.

I asked the call center guys about the bouncing email, they gave the Delhi phone number (which is on the website already) and asked to contact them directly.

I was about to make the phone call now (as they would have opened it by now only), but when I checked my wife's email one last time....hurray, it was there....at first i thought it was the reply to our enquiry. But when I opened the pdf, its the PPR !!!

Now, the second waiting game starts....Hopefully it ends well and fast, for all of us....*prayers*

also u mean now we can call new delhi and we can ask abt our status anytime abt whts going on with or file!!!!!!!!!

and send it by DHL or some reliable courier service ...so u know exactly when they got your PP..

I asked my hubby if he can bring along some of my wedding jewelry I left back in India and he says he doesn't wanna be in trouble with customs at the Canadian airport...I do know that as a landed immigrant he is able to bring items like jewlery as long as there is an "appraisal" receipt present..

That's a good news if they have started initial review. Is ease stil in app rec? Shouldnt it change to inprocess now? I am sure you will hear DM within a month max.

I think there was a post on this way back somewhere... He needs to declare somewhere in form n stuff with pictures and receipt just in case if they ask.

He can bring in jewelery without getting into any trouble with immigration. I suggest he takes your jewelery to any gold shop and ask them to weigh it and write down its current market price (if you dont have the original receipts). I believe the gold shops might charge a fee for this service. Dont forget to mention your jewelery on the B4 forms.

I also read on some previous threads that people also take pictures of the jewelry and produce them at immigrations. If the value is more than 10,000 CAD, you need to voluntarily declare it, otherwise nobody cares! I have read on the Pakistani thread that the wives have gotten their handbags full of jewelry and nobody asked anything. Immigration was a breeze. So as long as you have your proper documents, I dont think your husband would run into any trouble.

P.S he could always arrive at the airport looking like Bappi Lahiri ;D ;D

They will definitely ask what you are bringing...
Tell them. What they care about is the total value of goods brought in.
Have an itemized list and approximate value. Pictures, if needed.

Congratulations vengat83. It was about time that you got PPR. Let us hope the second step is super fast for all of us. In between, if I remember correctly your address vanished recently, is that correct? If so, did you get your address now.
