Hello House,

Hope everyone is doing fine. it been 6 weeks yesterday our passports got to AVO.
However, BG changed to in progress since 8th of June, response to our emails where positive = You will be contacted as soon as passport are ready for pick up, this was on the 20th and 22rd of June.

Has anyone experience this type of long processing time from AVO or in the forum.

I know it will end in praise.

Amen dear, surely, we all will be favored this year.

I was just reading through CIC website and saw this link that the government is addressing spousal backlogs and wait times. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/media/notices/2016-06-13.asp

Hopefully this extends to AVO because they are rather slow with everything and extremely backed-up.

Hi everyone, i'm an applicant for permanent residence in canada under the family class. i learned about this forum a few months ago, and i must say some of the advice and comments on here have been extremely helpful to our process which we started at the beginning of the year (i.e. January 2016). Just had a quick question for fellow applicants. can i apply for a tourist visa to attend the wedding of my brother-in law while my permanent residence application is still pending? my wife (canadian) and i have been married for two years now, and prior to getting married i visited with her and her family in canada on several occasions. i have not applied for a tourist visa recently as i did not want to complicate my process in any way. some of the recommendations i have seen online seem to suggest it should not be a problem so long as you can demonstrate that you plan to return to your home country. i have a steady job, which I don't plan to leave until i am approved for immigration so i think i can demonstrate that i will return. But i am still worried a bit. i would really appreciate the thoughts of forum members.

To be honest with you based on advice i have receive from Legal practitioner will be to show a strong ties to home country that you will be back to your country such as land propety and so on, but as for visiting Canada in the past numerous time doesn't hold any strong guarntee that visa will be approved because my Aunty was here numerous time and she was still denied late last year but this change of government might be different but it does hurt trying cos it will not have any negative impact on your current spouse sponsorship application. Goodluck

Happy Canada day to every Canadian who is sponsoring their spouses and partners as well as everyone who is on the waiting to join the loved ones.. May God almighty do wonders in our applications this July.. It really hurts that my other half has to celebrate today alone without me.. Every day we talk, it breaks my heart to see her cry endlessly... I believe God will finish what he has started in our lives in smiles and victory.
