Ok. Thank you very much. They received mine on 24th January, but start processing 17th October. I think they just forgot my application for a while and now I am still on queue for review as they told me in last email.
I believe they will get to you soon just hang in there. You can never understand AVO and the way they process applications

Everyone in the house didn’t get a new Police clearance certificate. You only get a new clearance if you traveled to another country after the last one was issued. But for Nigeria, it last for a year. Someone please correct me if I am wrong. Thank you

Been thinking about the fact that people who submitted their applications in May are already hearing from immigration while some from March and April are still waiting. I wonder if immigration sends background and security checks out to different government bodies in bulk and can only process the applications as they get results back. Wondering if some security and background checks just take longer than others.

So maybe they are processing the March and April ones for those of us who haven't heard yet, but they can't finish the processing because they are waiting for the security checks.

Does anyone know how the background checks are conducted? What is the process? Do they look at the file, request info if needed and then do the security check? Or security check guest them determine if they believe the relationship is genuine?

Yes it’s very possible that they send out the security checks in batches and to different organizations as well. Another factor is also how fast the visa officer assigned to your file works. Once a file gets to CIC, they assign the file to a visa officer and the file also moves around to different visa officers depending on the stage (for verification purposes etc). So if the main visa officer working on your file is typically slow, that will cause a huge delay in the processing of your application.

Has anyone here ever gotten a Canadian TRV successfully? If yes, did you have to submit flight itinerary with your application?
