A Canadian citizen can go stay in another country during processing for as long as they wish; if the sponsor is a PR, they are supposed to be residing in Canada during processing. The agent may not have been aware you were a PR (if you are).

Hurray! My wife was sent an email this morning from accra, to come for an interview in october. She was told to come with all accompanying family members. I just hope everything works out good for my wife and kids. Helpful tips anyone? :)

Accra Ghana applicants plz share yr timeline.

Does the accra office request passport right after the first stage approval or during the interview?

During or after the interview.

Thanks Canadianwoman, how was the interview at the accra office?

Well, not so good for my husband or for me. Karen Salloum was our officer, and she has a bad reputation. Very rude and disrespectful.
However, lately people have been reporting that their interviewer was polite and even friendly. I think if you have a lot of evidence your relationship is genuine, the interview will be fine. I am guessing here, but I suspect they send 'difficult' cases to Ms. Salloum.

I think some cases are pretty straight forward. Obviously a more experienced person will handle complex cases. The best thing to do is make your case as straight forward as possible and do not supply incriminating evidence.

I would assume within within month. The Interview might be in 3months time though. I would suggest you take this time to start gathering further proof of communication and relationship as you have to be meticulous with Accra. All the best.

Fernendez, i did not hear anything from accra since our file was tranfer july 27th. Do you think it is just too early or perhaps we could have been waived to show up for the interview which i doubted?

hi everyone
my file got transfered to accra since july 9th but since then no news from accra ! what does it mean ? good or bad sign ? usually people gets interview request after just 4 or 6 weeks! this wait is killing me

It depends on the number of files they have to process. There is no standard waiting time and also no two cases are the same. Br positive as you should get the interview letter soon.
