now it is common knowledge that many applicants have got a negative e-mail from CHC ND, that all cases post feb 2008 and pre june 2010 would take 2 or more years to process. that they received way too much applications between that period and blah blah blah.
so now where do we stand ?
according to you how much time have we all applicants passed from that 2 years that they say it will take to process the cases.
and still how long do we have to wait ?
if we travel to some other country, say for example on student visa, do we have to inform CHC ND about the scenario ?
really confused about what to do next

Guys,

Is it 2 years from the date of application or from now???

Folks,

I am no expert in these matters and know very little. However it does seem to me that if we step back for a moment and look at the roles of various agencies etc., some of these rumours are ludicrous. One might almost think that people were trying to emigrate to New Delhi.

It seems to me that the most significant and important part of of the process is what happens in Nova Scotia. It is Canada that reviews the applications and it is Canada that decides who on the face if it would make a good immigrant. Canada then charges New Delhi with the task of checking the person out, getting them a medical, making sure they are who they say they are and do what they say they do, and then providing them with a visa if they pass those criteria. If a quota was reached then Canada would stop sending them for processing.

I don't think that New Delhi has any authority or inclination to slow, stop, modify or in any way change the status of the process set by Canada.

The Canadian government has stated repeatedly that it wants to speed up the process and the press reports this. I see no reason to think it's untrue.

It has been suggested that things have stopped right now because the New Delhi staff are helping people who have already reached Canada find work. That's beyond bizarre. The Delhi visa office has no influence in Canada whatsoever. It's on a par with saying that Ontario civil servants are going to make sure Delhi's streets are clean. It's nonsense.

It has been stated that June and July applicants are going to get fast tracked. This could well be true, but where is the evidence? Who said so? Where is it written?

KDSTTL is right when he says go by the Canadian government's own website. If they have just updated the time frames in April to 14 months, it's hard to believe the real figure is 2 to 3 years. If it was why would they not say so? The've posted other long delays before and I believe they really do want to paint an accurate picture of the situation as it is now.

If you've survived Nova Scotia and your file is honest, I think you can relax, though I would hold off on the packing for now.

I think maybe they are doing this so many people would withdraw the applications and the count would reduce....

Based on what? Speculation, hearsay, rumour. Let's stick to facts. Canada is a very non corrupt country. If the government played games with people's lives the opposition parties would destroy them. All parties are pro immigration, it's what makes this huge country with a small population grow. If you know something, spell it out. If you have a hunch, keep it to yourself.

Hiteshand,

I hope I'm not wrong. I love this country and I don't believe it's corrupt or plays games.

Thanks yaar. Finally someone spoke right.

We can bear with delays from the immigration department. What we can't bear and more frustrating is the rumors that people are spreading for no reason.

Canada's economy is fuelled by immigration, from housing, refrigerators, stoves and innumerable things. The numbers are likely to be increased. It is painfully hard waiting for word and my heart goes out to those of you in that position, but we need you in Canada, Canadians really do believe in diversity and immigration as a good policy. You will be welcomed here not resented. I can think of no other city in the world quite like that. But I say to you, have faith and welcome.

and hopefully this Visa is one of them.

I have been advised by my consultant not to Travel
I usually travel abroad quite often and presently am stuck here for over 18 months but thats in case of a Visitor Visa

as far as Student Visa is concerned i do not think it will be a problem,Life cannot stop because we are engaged with a particular VO

Just Inform them and go forward with your Growth Plans

The Mails and replies people write are no matter of concern
I always have maintained that CHC will never discuss Figures of applicants done applicants pending with you or me
They are not answerable to us in figures

There is one thing I ponder about " WHY DO PEOPLE LIKE TO SPREAD PANIC ON THE FORUM"
