Economy of Canada

Canada's economy is booming. As of 2008, Canada's GDP is approximately C$1.178 trillion, with a GDP per capita of approximately C$37,500. In 2006, Canada's unemployment level fell to a 32-year low of 6.3%. In practical terms, this means that anyone who wants a job can usually find one.

Canada is in the enviable position of having a rich natural resource base on which to base its economy, with the oil, timber and mining industries driving the economy. Canada's manufacturing and service sectors are also highly advanced. Canada's technology, research, and pharmaceuticals sectors are world-class, and it is a world leader in biotechnology, telecommunications and aerospace engineering.

Canada's proximity to the United States makes cross-border trade easy and efficient. Most of Canada's exports are sold to the American market. Indeed, although this fact is little-known in America, Canada is by far the biggest trading partner of the United States. As well, Canada's Membership in the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) has meant that Canadian companies have almost unfettered access to the wider North American market.

Housing IN Canada

HOUSING TO FIT YOUR NEEDS

The style and availability of housing varies greatly from city to city, and region to region. On Canada's West coast you will find architecture unique in the country, as the temperate climate allows for greater flexibility in building style. In general, you can expect to find larger, detached suburban-style housing on the outskirts of major cities. Deeper inside Canada's cities you will find that high density apartments, houses and high-rise condominiums are the norm.

The average cost of renting a two-bedroom apartment in Canada's major cities are:

Toronto: C$1,075 per month
Vancouver: C$1,071 per month
Ottawa: C$920 per month

Hi everybody

Normally There is no interview these days.
I would like to Know On what Cause do they call for an Interview

Can Anybody Enlighten me.

Destination BC,

Firstly, thanks a lot for the important info regarding Canada.

Secondly, Interviews are conducted when there is a doubt in the mind of the Visa Officer regarding education, employment, marital status, etc. If everything is genuine and proper paperwork is provided, interviews chances are very less.

Best of luck.

So do you think that if they find all documents genuine then neither any interview nor any verification call?

Hi destination,

Generally if they have any doubt on your docs or if VO is not able to clear / understand some points or want clarification, then they will call applicant for personal interview. It is sure that they can not called an applicant for english proficiency or personality checks.

I have observed that are calling applicants for genuineness of marital status & work experience.

Hi Vishesh

It takes a max of Nine to ten months at CHC Delhi to complete a file ,I think you have completed those months and the Interview went well too,

I wonder if this is one of a kind or a general scenario at the moment.
