Thoz who got 6-12 months wait letter

I received updated document request on 20th October, 2012. However, that letter had some overwriting resulting confusion. Tick mark was clear for four forms -- IMM0008, IMM5406E, IMM5669E-Schedule A and IMM5562E. However, options related to Medicals and police certificates were initially marked/selected with yellow marker and then crossed (X) with black ink.

I immediately sent a query to VO asking clarification on whether I need to submit police certificates along with other docs or not. VO did not respond to my query for many days and I had to send updated documents ,excluding police certificates, that reached LVO on 8th November, 2012.

I received reply to my query on 14th November, 2012 mentioning that VO also requires updated police certificates. I posted updated police certificates that reached there on 4th December, 2012.

Now in medical instruction email , VO again asked me to submit updated police certificates. I have written back to VO few minutes back explaining the situation.

Hope police certificates that reached VO on 4th December, 2012 will serve the purpose.

First accept heartiest congrates on your medical request. Second from personal experience would suggest to send updated PCC at the earliest not wasting your time. I sent PCC with updated docs on 12/11/12 and was asked again for PCC beside other things. Sent enquiries email but of no avail. Wasted about 10 days hoping for a response. Ultimately sent pcc again with other requested information. You would not believe that docs were delivered in the morning and in the afternoon received email that your pcc has been received. As you have your own experience of not getting any response previously. Long story cut short SEND PCC IF YOU ARE ADVISED SO save your own time. Good Luck.

Advice for going for Medical test
1. Take Five Passport size pic (CAD Style). Write the names of family members on their respective pics to save time at the counter.
2. Do take two photostats of the passport..
(There are other requirements which the IOM would brief at the time of appointment but I am sharing it for others, especially the Point 1) .

I have written the names already which saved my time at he counter otherwise, writing names at the back with a large family, is time consuming....

Get appointment from IOM by calling at 8:00 or so as the agents will remain busy as the time goes by...

If it is easier for you to get PCC then can submit again to avoid any delays...
But normally one PCC is valid for 3 months minimum

U know the weird thing is, my friend who took australian immigration 3 years ago and went to australia 3 years ago, was here in lahore this week, and came to see me today....he told me he also did medical from IOM lahore (near kulma chowk, same place), and later told me that he also got aeroplane tickets through IOM and they were at consessional prices...

this is the number he gave me "0512831064".....their ticket buying email is : osu @ iom.int......someone named irfan afazl deals with this stuff.....

ofcourse, .this info he had saved in his phone is 3 years ago....so I don't know if it still holds true....but the point is, I did not know IOM also deal with plane tickets too !!! I asked my friend that whether this is the same IOM which do medical or is this some agent type guy, he said YES, its same IOM....he was not sure if they give this service for canada though...but as I said, I'm not sure of this either....just thought I'd share with u guys too, if any of u have any idea about this.....since I don't have any clue about this....may be we should ask IOM once we r done from medical if this service is actually given by them for canada or is this a misinformation.

Hmmm....have not read the link in detail yet, but I'm assuming this thing seems to be true...weird no one ever mentioned it on forum that he got tickets through IOM....we should check on this WHENEVER we go for our medical....maybe , people who r goin to IOM for medical in the next few days, AFTER they r done with medical check up, should check with reception IF iom provides this service....anyways. All the best to people goin for medical, let us all know if any one gets any info on this. Regards.

Bro..I am not hurt, nor am i angry. I told u that you are doing a great job. Just requested you to LET ARSH DO HIS JOB (as we cannot access your list, so let Arsh worry about blackberry people and u continue doing your good work)
