Thoughts to change first name?

Affidavits can be made here locally by visiting a notary public.
You can either contact online the newspaper agencies in India and pay them online to get your advertisement and ask them to mail you the newspaper or have your relative grab it for you and send it to you.
Else, ask your relative in India to get ads in newspapers and then send you the newspaper ad by mail.

Thanks for ur reply. Did you change first name or lastname? Moreover you just got new passport with new name and didnt get any legal name change in india and didnt face any problem for applying citizenship. is that right?

Check the second sentence. If you change your name before applying, you might fall under non-routine case.

However, if you do it after you get your citizenship, then you would need to reapply for new citizenship certificate.

non routine is excluded for citizenship process:

For citizenship applications only:

You failed a test;
You did not meet the language requirements during your interview (for citizenship applications only);

Name change during citizenship application being processed can delay the application. So change the name before applying for citizenship or apply for name change after getting citizenship.

I did a legal name change in both Canada and India. I didn't have a surname and I got a surname and it was a LEGAL CHANGE OF NAME.

I changed my name in Indian Passport using indian rules/regulations(legal name change). I changed my name in Canada using Canadian regulations (legal name change) and got my PR card, SIN Card, health card, bank cards etc changed with my new name.

I have changed my name in Germany. You can write something like this:
To whomever it may concern

I, your present name, hereby am changing my name to your new name with
immediate effect.

Better still, Indian newspapers are experts in such notifications, so publish in
Indian newpapers and use the same statements in Canadian newspapers.

I live in BC and got the advertisement in "The Province" in BC, Canada and in India "The Tribune" in India however you can use a leading English newspaper in Canada and India accordingly.

The format would be as follows:

I "old name" s/o xxxx R/O "address as per indian passport" and currently residing at "current address" have changed my name to "new name"

i got name change certificate from my province. I am an indian citizen with canadian PR.

Now i am planning to apply for new PR card. Should i apply after getting new indian passport with new name or can i apply now.

If you say we can apply now without changing in indian passport then

I have checked the documents that needed for applying new pr card.
They say we need to send One (1) main identity document:

Can i use my indian passport with old name or should i send after getting new passport.

Please guide me. thanks

Send the PR renewal application (check the document checklist and everything)along with the copy of your current valid indian passport with the old name and copy of the legal change of name certificate(legal name change document is really important to be included)
Once you pr card is issued with new name, get your indian passport reissued with new name. You may have to follow Indian procedure for name change. They want you have Pr card's name changed before they can change your name on Indian Passport. (Atleast that's what happened to me in 2012)
In the meanwhile get all your provincial IDs changed like: Drivers licence, health card, sin card, credit cards, debit cards etc etc. by showing your legal change of name certificate.

My indian passport get expired in november 2017. Does it have to be atleast 6months for applying new PR card

I don't know. I think 6 months validity is usually for travel requirements.
Check with CIC call centre.

Should i sign the form with new sign or still to sign the IMM5444E with old name.if you know let me know please.
