Hi,

I am planning to fly in August.
I consolidated all my savings into one account.

Now the question is in which proportion i should arrange the CAD from India. I have to show 13801 CAD at POE.

Can I take 4000 CAD in My name & 4000 in my Spouse name (I mean In hard CAsh) . Whther it is accepatble or entire fund should be in my name.

I will arrange the bill from the Foreign Exchange dealer from India & get this stamped/entered on both PPs.
Rest i will arrange Travller cheques??

Any one from India who LAnded in CAnada ...pls suggest...

Hi,

Can you share the source of your information. It is not 3000CAD. He carry what ever cash he wants to. Its just that if its above $ 9999 then at customers the officials will ask for the source of funds.

This information was revealed to me by 'Regional Manager' of 'Paul Merchants Ltd.'( a world renown company deals with Forex) He is my close relative, so I hope the information would be the authentic one! As per him this 3000CAD cash limit is specifically applied to India.

There is no limit for TCs or Drafts etc.

hey people when u land in canada, you have to fill a form which ask you if you are carrying more than 10000 dollars with you,
i think with $9999 you will be fine per person.

It's a RBI directive. You can not take more than 3000 US $ in cash on one passport while leaving India.
