Hi,

I have a question that may sound very silly and simple (however my partner and I can't agree on the issue).

I am doing Part 2 of the application pack for spousal visa

Within GUIDE 3999 it states that:

"...This form must be completed by:

You, as the principal applicant,
Your spouse or common-law partner (whether accompanying you to Canada or not), and
Your dependent children aged 18 or over (whether accompanying you to Canada or not)...
"

So fare I have Identified two sections that state this, they are:

Schedule A – Background/Declaration (IMM 5669)

Additional family information (IMM 5406)

So...My question is do my my wife, my children and myself contribute to ONE application form OR do we need to do THREE SEPARATE copies of the same application form?

Sorry if this sounds like a silly question but we want our application to be right first time, thanks :)

only one form
And even if the question is silly, don't hesitate to ask.It is better to be silly than to waste 1000 dollars and 6 months because you were too ashamed to ask.

The partner that is being sponsored is the principal applicant.

hi. imm 5669 Schedule A-Background /Declaration instructions are: "must complete their own copy of the form" if u are the sponsored spouse, u are the principal applicant so fill up ur own form, if u have children 18 yo or older listed in the application, they will accomplish their own form too. if ur wife is the sponsor no need for her to accomplish this. the same is true with Imm 5406.

This thread was very helpful to me, I had this exact question. My wife is a Canadian citizen and is the one sponsoring me. She has two children but they Canadian citizens and live with her in Canada, are not my children and are not included in the application, so I will fill out ONE 5406 and ONE 5669, for myself only - please correct me if I am wrong in this!

No, not wrong. Her children, as citizens, are NOT emigrating. Just you, just one form.
