Hi,
I sent our application package off to Mississauga in December, I am the sponsor my partner is the applicant, we are still waiting to hear whether I have sponsorship approval.
On the Sponsor's questions it asks if you've ever sponsored someone before. I put 'No' but I am concerned that might not be correct.
I originally immigrated to Canada in 1997 with my husband, from the UK. We got married specifically because at that time, you couldn't be considered a 'couple' and be included on the same application unless you were legally married.
We did use a company who acted on our behalf, I was the main applicant; we both went for all medicals etc., and interview in Portugal (at the time processing was faster through Lisbon than it was through London).
Because I was the main applicant does this mean that I sponsored my then husband or would we have been considered an equal entity?
And if it means I did sponsor my husband and I answered No on the form is my application an automatic denial or is there something I can do?
Thanks in advance to anyone who has knowledge in this area.
