Hello guys,
I'm planning to leave Canada early next year (January 2017) for an extended vacation overseas more than 6 months. I am a permanent resident only (I live in Manitoba) and I am aware that I have to stay in Canada for at least 2 years out of 5 years. I am planning to go back again to Canada once i've settled my partner visa with my boyfriend probably mid 2018.
What are the things that I have to do and prepare before I leave Canada? I am aware that I have to inform the Manitoba health care of my extended vacation. Is there anything else that I have to do and inform? I'm single, I don't have a child, and I don't have any loans to pay (example: Manitoba student aid loan) so I don't get any child tax benefit or student benefit.
I just want to make sure everything is fixed and prepared before I leave to avoid trouble when I go back to Canada in 2018.
Thank you and your help will be appreciated.
