Hi everyone,

How are you all today. We have now sent our application (spouse visa) by a courier company in Prince Albert. Delivery company says it has been sent and signed for, when will we get a confirmation that they do physically have the documents with them.
Or what happens next?
Thanks :)

Where did you send them to?

Once they have been signed for by the receiver you application will wait to be approved for the stage 1 sponsorship approval. That can take weeks to months. When your sponsorship has been approved you will receive a letter/email to confirm this and then your spouses portion of the application will be forwarded to the embassy responsible for processing it. This will take a long time for the application to be reviewed. Once it gets opened the process moves quickly unless further documents are required by the Visa Officer to render a decision.

Hi ya,

this is the address the courier company sent the documents to:
case processing centre
2 robert speck pky
suite 300
mississauga,
on l4z 1h8

Which is different to the p.o.box address on the C.I.C website

Private couriers have a different address than if you sent them via Canada Post. They will both end up the same place.

Your courier company in PA will have a copy of the person's name/initials who actually signed for receipt of the package and you should be able to go online with your courier tracking number and see it and print it. That lets you know your package is physically there. I received my confirmation from CIC less than 4 weeks later, some people get them faster, some longer. The courier address is only a few km. away from the actual processing centre (both in Mississauga) so an internal courier travels back and forth daily. Hope that clarifies.

Actually its the other way around. Station A is around Dundas and Hurontario. The couriers go direct to the offices where they drop them off at the mailroom. Canada Post receives them by bulk and drops off twice a day with an outgoing clearance at 5pm-ish. Packages that miss the bulk connection would be delivered by MSC's in order to meet the time commitment. I used to do that tour.

Ahhh....so I reversed the order, I stand corrected CJG :) As long as they get physically received and signed, then they can go in any order they wish.......just get the job done ;) Correctly.

Yup. In my experience the problem starts when the application is in CIC's hands...... :P
