My application to permanent resident has been in process since Nov 2022. It's under the Federal Skilled Workers Stream, I reside in Canada on a work visa. We had a document request to renew Police Background Check in May 2023. And have been stuck in Security Screening. Criminality, Medicals, and Eligibility are all passed/approved, as per GCMS notes. We have been reaching out to IRCC, CBSA, CSIS through ATIP requests and our MP. I noticed that my spouse's CSIS check (dependent applicant) was passed. Mine is still in process as per the last information received in January 2024. I asked for GCMS notes, and I got them last week. I noticed that my husband's Security assessment in the Assessments section has an "in progress" status instead of blank. Also in the top corner of all pages that have related information to security screening, it says s.21 instead of s.15 or s16 as per in previous GMCS notes. Is this a good sign? Can anyone please guide us to evaluate if it is indeed making some progress? We are thinking about starting a writ of mandamus process in May, so any insights will be helpful.

IS your security cleared?
I am also inland applicant waiting for security check. Mine SS started in July 2023. I request Cbsa notes in march 2024 and got them in like 2 week and it says recieved by cbsa and doesnt say like in progress or something.
I requested for CSIS notes as well on same day cbsa but i have not recieved them. However cbsa notes have section 13 (1) a , S (15) , S (16) (1) c.

As per my last GCMS notes received at the end of February, security is not cleared yet. Only criminality.
I am going to space a little more asking for notes as one lawyer I consulted to explore the possibility of writ of mandamus said they paused the case while answering for that. I am not sure this is true bc everyone says it does not affect the progress, but asking frequently isn't either.

I got my cbsa notesbIn info sharing notes. says security background information reviewed no A34, A35, A37 concerns.
it was hidden in my previous notes. But I checked online these sections are for security.

Any update for you?
I got my CBSA notes. There wasn't any significant progress. Their upcoming deadlines are in late April/early May, but that doesn't mean anything in reality. Just going to give it some time. Also, IRCC said through the Parliament Member I contacted that they pause the application when I ask for notes. Not sure if this applies to CSIS and CBSA notes, but you should keep that in mind.

Pausing application means?
Literal words from the MP's office: "Just so you know ATIP requests can make the application's processing take longer because IRCC has to pause the processing to gather notes and respond to the ATIP request. Then resume processing when the ATIP request response has been sent. "

Hello,
I have applied for Express Entry in Jan 24, 2023.

I received a letter from CSIS and it states:

Security Assessments/Advice (CSIS PPU 005) - A search of this bank was conducted and no
personal information concerning you was located.

Could you please help me to understand this?

Thank you,
