:)

not too long
I moved to Mexico with him when his refugee was denied, so I live there up until December and moved back here cuz he lost his job.
So its been about 5 months, with a 2 week visit in march.

although it does feel like forever when you spend the past 3 years of your life together everyday all day!

I cant imagine the people who don't have the chance to live together during the process, must be so hard!

I have a roommate sponsoring his wife from Dubai and they have been in process for 1.5 year and are expecting about another year wait and shes not able to come here to visit, and he can only go there for short visits because he is a PR not a citizen. :(

5 months is still long enough! Must be pretty excited for it to be all over.... I am already planning to have a massive party the day I get my PR! I am lucky in the sense that I am on work permits, so can stay in Canada... people just presume that because we are married, we don't have to worry about residency any longer.... Oh man, if only it wre that easy!!!!!

That must be hard for your room mate, we are very lucky now to have the luxuries of Skype/email/etc but still not the same.

Will be thinking of you next week!!! :) :) :)

Yeah its not too bad!
oh nice yeah I wish we could have done it from inside Canada! at least we could have been together for the entire process than.

I know! we are common-law, but people always tell me, why don't u just get married and he can come back tis easier. im like sorry u have no idea how the process works! lol.

Yeah! I feel bad for him, hell have good days and bad. its tough!

thank you!!

hope you get your PR soon too!

good luck! ;D , maybe I will unknowingly see you around town lol

Thanks all,

My wife flew out to Canada today from London not sure how long we will be apart for :(
She's going to post our forms and documents tomorrow. Has anyone travelled to and from London while waiting for the visa because if its gonna be a long wait we would want to see each other during this time and not sure if I can travel to Canada once application is in progress

I hear you!! We are common-law as well, and when he came to visit, everybody was saying the same: Just get married!
First of all, we already applied as common-law; second, marriage for me is not that simple, I want a nice reception, not expensive, but cute! And to get married takes time. And we just got engaged. Let us enjoy this stage of our relationship, you know?
