Thanks for prompt reply @legalfalcon
I checked the instructions in the upload window. Are they recent or not? Bit confused because you mentioned they are not recent.

In the upload window instructions, they say specifications as 35mm x 45mm and jpg file. And only talk about photographer's details for Canadian citizenship certificate.
1) What is the right specifications I should follow for EE. 35 mm x 45mm or 50mm x 70mm?

2) My question here, should I upload the front (digital photo) given as per specifications as page 1 and the physical photo back scan(with details handwritten) as page 2 in a PDF.

3) In upload window they mentioned jpg file. Is PDF ok?

Many other members in other forums tells 35mmx45mm is for eAPR digital photo specifications whereas 50mmx70mm is for PPR stage where we submit physical copy with photographer's details.

Please advise most accurate way of doing this.

1. The correct specifications are 35 mm x 45mm, what is listed next to the upload window.

2. The specifications are clear and they ask for jpg format, not pdf. You will have to have them as one page, one under the other.

3. see 2

Hello @legalfalcon

I got an ADR letter for two documents to be submitted on myCIC account but only one placeholder was provided on my account.
I was asked for PCC and Statement of account. But only the placeholder for the Police Certificate was provided.
what do I do?
Do I merge the two documents together and submit under the police certificate placeholder?
Your reply would be much appreciated.
Thank you.
Only upload the document that is asked in the place holder, for the other document, send it via webform.

1. Can you confirm that I upload only front of the digital photo as the back is not asked as per upload window instruction for EE?
2. Currently I have used visafoto and my photo file size is 97KB and they mentioned the file size to be approximately 240KB , no more than 4MB. is that ok?
3. If I had to give back of the photo, I do not know how to take a scan of physical photo (front & back) in one page. Any advice on that.

Thanks in advance!!

When you are submitting documents that are in a language other than English or French they must be accompanied by an official translation of the original document, or of a certified copy of the original document in English or French. That translation must be
  • of the original document, or
  • of the certified copy of the original document, and
  • certified by a certified translator, or in the event that the translation cannot be provided by a certified translator, it must be accompanied by an affidavit, and
  • included with the application

The submission package will look like:

1. Copy of original document / certified copy of the original
2. The translation
3. The affidavit from the translator.

1. yes

2. As long as the photo is clear, and not blurry, it will be fine.

4. you have to take two scans and merge them.

You only have to upload the biographical pages of your passport to IRCC and not to your nominating province, if it has already given you the nomination.

You can send the passport your self via webform, and if your representative has sent it, you can ask the rep for the acknowledgement or refer to your GCMS notes after a few weeks for the incoming correspondence.

You can also contact IRCC by phone or webform and enquire if your passport has been submitted.

IF all stages have passed, that is a good sign and you need not worry about it. The 6 months processing time is is a myth, and in 2019 an application for FSW and PNP took 9 months to progress, while CEC took 7 months.

Also, currently due to COVID and office closures, there are significant delays. Given that your AoR is April 2020, and all your stages are passed, you need not worry, just wait it out. Also, currently IRCC is only processing cEC application with full capacity, all other applications processing has significant delays:

You cannot expedite the processing of your application.

How long did it take to process an Express Entry application?
Table 35 displays the time, in months, that IRCC took to process 80% of applications under each program. In 2019, IRCC did not meet the processing standard of finalizing 80% of all applications sourced via Express Entry within six months. The processing time for Express Entry, overall, was eight months. As an alternative measure of processing times, 60% of applications finalized in the 12-month period ending on December 31, 2019, were completed within the six-month service standard.

Table 35: Processing Times for Express Entry applications finalized by year and immigration category, in months

Data is operational and as such should be considered preliminary and subject to change.

  • Processing times refer to the time in which 80% of applications were finalized by IRCC. The processing time is measured from the day a complete application is received until the time a final decision is made by an immigration officer.

Hi @legalfalcon
I hope you're doing good. I have a question for which I need some advice. I and my husband got our ITA in November 2020 and have an AOR of Dec 30. While we're waiting for the application to process, we're thinking of planning for our baby. Do you think this volatile time is the right time to plan for a baby? Or should we wait at least until we get our PPR in hand and then start thinking about it? (Thinking of health insurance policies for new immigrants etc if I do deliver in Canada) and other formalities like informing IRCC about the pregnancy. Would it complicate my profile and cause delays? I know it's a personal query but I really need some advice here.

When to have a baby is entirely your decision. If your family composition changes, you will have to inform IRCC, after your baby is born and provide additional forms, upfront medicals for your baby. It will add a few months to the processing timeline as your baby's documents will have to be processed.

As regards being covered under provincial medical insurance, that will depend on your Province where you intend to settle. Each Province has its own laws pertaining to who is covered under Provincial medical insurance. Eg. in Ontario, as of March 19, 2020 the three-month waiting period for OHIP coverage has been waived.

You can add them as a part of LoE or send them as a webform.
