@legalfalcon
just found by gcms notes that on October 23, my info sharing with usa got complete. so you were right sir as they were waiting for info from usa. But after October 23, as i did email to ottawa & they replied they need additional verifications. What else can be additional verification as security is not started & they asked rcmp which i submitted. I didn't travel to any country except usa & india.

Info sharing is not enhanced SS. It simple means the sharing of info for BGC to partner nations, like US, UK, Australia, NZ etc. (if you have ever visited them).
@legalfalcon, Thank you very much for the explanation. Both my spouse and I had studied in the US for a couple of years. My another question is I ordered CSIS report for myself (the main applicant) through getcsms. Should I order another separate CSIS report for my spouse? HOw can we know if we are under enhanced SS?

Hi @legalfalcon ,

I need your help and advise..

Recd ITA on 13th April, AOR on 24th Jun, Medical Passed 1st Aug, NA2 since 5th Aug..file is in Ottawa..Application Type is FSWO ( I reside in India ).

Application Status:

Eligibilty - Under review
Medical - Under review ( On 1st Aug it said medical passed and after uploading son's LOE it went to review )
Additional Document provided - Being Reviewed
Background - Not Applicable

I am single applicant with a non accompnaying dependant. The non accompanying dependent is my son for which they had asked for Passport details, birth certificate and medicals. My son is currently 11 years old.

I had separated from my wife and officially divorced since 2007 when my child was 1 yr old. I havent seen him or been in any communication since then.

I have provided all documents, including my son's name change which my ex-wife changed it to her surname. Obviously, since we are not in communicating terms, and because the legal divorce papers has given the mother the custody of the child, and because I have not been in touch since the separation whatsoever, I have not been able to provide the medicals. I have explained all of this and provided a self-affidavit and had it notarized.

On 1st Aug CIC had once again asked for medical documents for my son. for this I provided LOE and once again attached the self affidavit, divorce paper that mentions custody.

I contacted CIC and the agent on the call said ( on 6th Oct 2017) that my security, criminal and assessments hv been cleared and they r reviewing my dependents medical documents. I wrote an email on 17th Nov and got the same response that my file is still in Ottawa and they r reviewing my dependents medical docs.

I would like your advise on the following:

1. DO you think I shud order for GCMS notes?
2. Is there anything further that I can do to expedite my application
3. Do you think I hold a chance for getting through my PR.

Any inputs on the above and anything of value add would be of great help to me...Thank you in abudnace for your time and inputs.

Looking fwd to your response...
Hi,
I can see that I am having the same issue about medicals, however in my case it is for my stepson.
In case if you have not requested gcms till now, I guess you should order it in order to understand what's happening on it.
In your case they did request you to provide the medical, for mine they haven't so far asked anything and I am march aor. Does your divorce papers clearly mention sole custody to your exspouse? I have read on this forum that having shared custody or having paid for maintenance triggers for them to ask for medicals. Ideally they should not reject your application on this basis. But all depends on the officer reviewing the file.
I guess you have done your best so far and will have to wait further instructions only.
Did you provide the same dated documents post your add or did you provide any extra document or loe.?

I am asking to know since it might help me too.

I am an international student in toronto and hating my life here.
I have a car with a 24K balance on it, it is becoming difficult selling it.
I wanna know if I move back to India after giving the car back what will be my future in traveling to Canada for even temporary purposes.

Secondly, in case i pay off the car, i will be leaving my college course in between to move back to India. Again what will be my future in Canada in that case. Will it effect my future Visa application to Canada?

Hi,
Received ADR to upload document for dependant, however the placeholder to upload in the application is under the principal applicant not the dependant supporting documents section !

is this correct?
Am I missing something?
Thanks

Hi @legalfalcon,
As my application for LMIA-exempted WP for postdoc is in progress, along with SOWP. my application is still in IP2. I have two questions:
  1. In last week, my SOWP status was IP2 too, they asked for some docs, I provided after they accepted, and reviewed. Now the BG status of SOWP is 'Not Applicable'. What does it indicates? It's NA3 or what? Next step would be PPR?
  2. As embassy will issue TRVs, how long that TRV validity would be? I mean within how much timeframe we have to land? I plan to land first, then I will call my family once I settle things. So, what would be grace period for her to land? Is it standard or varies upon discretion of VO?
Since 8-Oct, our cases are in process, ordered GCMS through you guys on 23-Nov. Let's see how it goes.

Thanks again!

Hi all,

Help required,

I have got my reference letter from current employer, however I have worked for 7 years and been promoted twice during this tenure last promotion was October 2013.
however my reference letter (on company letterhead given by manager) only mentions current roles and responsibilities as a manager do I require reference letter from all positions or current roles and responsibilities can work, I can provide all promotion letter and pay stubs as I have all the documents available online. each and every change is documented so not too worried on that.

They have said that letter with role and responsibilities of all years is not possible only current will be provided.

Any help would be really grateful
As per IRCC you have to provide the following in a reference letter:

The following documents are mandatory for each work experience declared:

  • a reference or experience letter from the employer, which
    • should be an official document printed on company letterhead (must include the applicant’s name, the company’s contact information [address, telephone number and email address], and the name, title and signature of the immediate supervisor or personnel officer at the company),
    • should indicate all positions held while employed at the company and must include the following details: job title, duties and responsibilities, job status (if current job), dates worked for the company, number of work hours per week and annual salary plus benefits;
If your employer cannot provide a letter with all of the above, you have the following options:

1. Get a letter from a colleague with the above info, which can be on a blank paper, notarized and explain it in LoE.
2. Attach promotion letter, pay stubs for all promotions and explain in LoE.

Hi,

ADR request for new born passport.

Do I only need to uploaded this or should l also included a covering page with the UCI number?

Do they stop processing your application until you provide ADR?

Thanks
No need for covering page. Only the biographical pages of the passport. Until you send the ADR, the processing will be stopped.

An example would be: Alessandra Lopez-Portillo Saenz
Where Lopez-Portillo is one surname but in official documents like my passport, it doesn't have the hyphen: Alessandra Lopez Portillo Saenz
I sometimes use it so people don't put my name only as Lopez, although i didn't address that exactly in the LOE.
No need to worry. If you have already submitted your application, the hyphen is not a big issue and it is self evident.
However, if you still feel you have to explain it, you can do it via CSE.

1. ordering GCMS is a personal choice. If you feel your application is on track, there is no need for GCMS. If you feel there may be concerns, and you need to read the agent notes, then by all means order GCMS notes. Either way, ordering GCMS notes does not harm.

2. The issue as you explain above which is not clear is, who has the custody of your dependent son? Is it absolute custody and mentioned in your divorce decree. If it is, and you have no role at all, then you can clarify it and IRCC should not ask you for any more documents. However, since your eligibility is clear, there is no need to worry.

The reason to ask for dependent documents I because if anyone in your family is inadmissible, accompanying or non accompanying, the entire family is inadmissible. This I because even if the dependent is non accompanying, you can later sponsor him/her. But if you have no custody, and have severed all relations, then if you explain it, IRCC will not ask you for any documents. However, you will never be able to sponsor that dependent to Canada. He/She can come to Canada on their own accord, but not throw family sponsorship.

3. I don't see why you will not get PR.

Additional verification is information form CBSA, CSIS, and RCMP. Even if the security is not started, it does not preclude gathering information from other agencies.
