Thanks legalfalcon. I modified my LOE to include the part about 'no email address / only phone number'

On the NOC reply from CIC :
What if i do not get a reply in another couple of days and decide to submit my application with the NOCs i feel are best matching per my judgement and then after e-APR, CIC NOC team replies back with a different suggestion..... does that mean my application will most likely be rejected due to NOC mismatch ?

After submitting application, i believe we can't change anything, so trying to figure out how long i should wait before submitting.

You can change the NOC after getting the ITA as long as they are in the same category, i.e. O, A or B.

You cannot give NOCs from cross categories.

sorry, should have quoted the previous post... my question was :
if i do not get a reply this week from CIC-NOC team on finding the correct NOC match, then i am planning to submit my application after waiting for a couple more days..... what happens if they reply after i have submitted and paid fees and suggest an NOC that's different from what i submitted ? - do you think that is a definite rejection and better to wait for entire 60 days for a repsonse before submitting all documentation/e-APR ?

Hi Legal Falcon

Hope you are enjoying the weekend ! Sorry I'm a bit confused if I need to bring completed application form for the permanent residence card (IMM 5444) when I first land in Canada ?

Thanks in advance !

I am again repeating and I think I did not clarify it before. If you write a wrong NOC, that will create a problem, however, if the NOC you select is different from what CIC determines, but is in the same A, B, or O; then there is no problem. Also consider that what work you are doing, if most of the duties resemble a given NOC which you find appropriate, select that. Even if CIC disagrees, they will go up or down a few numbers but will not change the category. So you can wait for a few more days, but a wrong NOC will not impact your application much, unless you make a big blunder.

I hope this helps!

When you land in Canada you do NOT need the permanent residence card form. When you approach the immigration give them your local address in Canada (if you have one) and they will enter it in the computer, this is the address where your PR card will be shipped. If you do not have an address when you land, just let the officer know and later you can update when you have one through calling the CIC or by CSE.

When landing all you need is your passport, two pictures, COPR, copy of PoF and other documents that you submitted in your application just for a reference.

Hope this helps!

This definitely helps a lot and is re-assuring. I can afford to wait another week so will do and if not, proceed with submission.
Thanks once again for all your help !

Hi Legal Falcon,

I heard that the longer processing time means the higher successful chance, is that correct?

Thanks so much.

No, it is not. There is no proven correlation between the two, though inferences can be drawn from cases in the past.

Hello Legalfalcon,

I have been consulting you since my AOR and your guidance helped me a lot throughout my application period. My AOR is 26th May, I'm completing my 6 month mark. I ordered GCMS recently dated 10/10 and my eligibility and criminality passed, waiting for my medicals and security. My work permit is expiring in next Jan 07, I havent applied for my BOWP yet, as i am confident of getting PPR soon. What is the chances of getting rejection at this point of time? I dont think it would be problem to pass security, though Officer review is still pending.

Thanks

Once the eligibility is passed the chances of rejection go down considerably. But, until you have the PR card, everything is just a speculation. I would encourage your to apply for the BOWP in December just in case your application takes longer. You should not be out of status which may complicate things further. If you get the PPR before that, that would be awesome, but keep a second alternative open.

Hope this helps and all the best!

It can be analyzed through the trends that after the eligibility (A11.2) is cleared the chances of rejection are very rare subject to security clearance. It is never a surety that the file will not be rejected unless the final approval is received.

This is normal. In some cases you will not see any change as sometimes it takes 24-48 hours for a change to take effect. In other cases you may see an update, but no change, which is rare, but as happened. Just give it some time and check later.
