If your have not added your ex in the applications as a dependent, sending the divorce certificate will suffice and if the IRCC needs anything more they will let you know.
Thanks, i did not add my ex as a dependant. Hope you're feeling better.

Hi legalfalcon,

Good to see you're back and happy to know that you're well.
I got ppr couple weeks back and have sent my passport for stamping. Thanks a lot for clearing my doubts.

Btw, wanted to ask, it's ok to get married once I land in Canada right? Or is there some specific period that I need to wait? I think it should be ok. Just wanted to confirm thought.

After you land in Canada you are a permanent resident and YES you can get married whenever you want. There is no waiting period. However, to get you spouse to Canada as a married souse of the PR, you will need to follow the procedure, if your spouse is not a Canadian citizen or a PR.

Hope this helps!

Hi Legalfalcon, i m aug aor and just read your articles i have 2 questions
1. Mostly people are getting schedule A within first month which even happen with me and 4 other people known to me as per you it is second last step kindly confirm
2. My wife applied pr in 2006 (all cases are terminated from 2005 to 2008 and i have only file no. No updates after that) in which i was co-applicant but i didn't mentioned this while submitting my application and even forgot when they ask me schedule A after submitting scheduled A i remember this and i again submitted schedule A updating 2006 file no. via CSE before 7 days deadline. Do you think it will negative Impact my file?

My analysis is just a step by step narration of the law. Not all applicants receive Schedule A. Usually the PNP applicants get it and the timeline can differ in terms of when the documents request is sent. However, the stages remain the same. It can be faster for a few, slower foremothers.

2. My wife applied pr in 2006 (all cases are terminated from 2005 to 2008 and i have only file no. No, not at all. As long as you corrected the issue, you are good. People forget what happened in the past and it is easy to miss it out. But as soon as you get to know it you should inform CIC, which you did and this will not impact your application.
Hope this helps!

Usually the BG check takes 3-4 weeks at an average. For some it take considerably longer and for other the turn around is really fast. I would suggest that you wait until October 10 at least. By then your BG check should be complete or nearing completion.
Have you ordered GCMS notes?

Dear Legalfalcon, Good Day!

Please help!

I want to resign from my current job, because after getting experience letter for Canada Immigration from my employer I am facing different type of difficulties. I am with this company since 2008. Currently I have no other job offer but my spouse has a good job so there is no finical problem.

My AOR is 7th Feb 2016, since 7th May 2016 my background check is In-progress, my last GCMS shows that our case is in local visa office and under security check.

My questions/concerns are,
1. Will my resignation put any effect on my case?
2. How to communicate CIC about my resignation?
3. What documents are required to include communicating my resignation to CIC?

Thanks!

1. Will my resignation put any effect on my case?
No, your resignation will not affect your case in any way. This is because when you file an application, on that day you have a cut off and anything after that is not counted. You are at liberty to leave your job as and when you desire and you don't even have to inform CIC.
2. How to communicate CIC about my resignation?
You don't have to. The only time you inform CIC is when you change your address, not your job. This is because the day you filed your application that is the time when everything is sealed. You job experience only till that day counts, not after. Moreover, your eligibility is passed and you are not at the BGC. That means CIC will most likely not go and verify your employer. That is the biggest challenge as some employers don't entertain questions after employees resign. Since you have already cleared your eligibility stage, there is no problem in your resigning.

3. What documents are required to include communicating my resignation to CIC?
See above.

Thanks!

Hope this helps!
