For those who have gotten the test invite and your ecas reflected this; did you see the ecas update first then receive the letter a few days later? Or you receive the letter from the mail first then ecas gets updated later?

Thanks.

Hi Hgn I applied from Ottawa too in April. I have a similar time line as yours, except my file was not transferred to local office. It is almost 40 days now. Do u have any idea how long does it take to transfer to local office in Ottawa, especially yours transferred very fast?
Thanks

I have received test invite in the mail a week before the actual test.
E-cas updated the day before.

@nobodylikeme my file was transferred to Ottawa office in March and test invite came in July. From what I can observer on this forum the transfer to local office and test dates depend from city to city. Ottawa office isn't the fastest one... God luck!

Hi, i did my test on july28, my ecas still shows "We sent you a letter on July 14, 2015. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us." Nothing mentioned about test at all till now.

What was sent to you on 14th July? Was it a letter to appear on test on 28th July?

My E-cars updated on the 14/08, a Friday, to say a letter had been sent on the 12/08. Haven't got the letter yet.

Yes test invitation letter

so it can go both ways:

1. ecas update, then letter later
2. letter comes in first, then ecas updates with test invitation

but from a wild guess from reading this forum, test invite letters come in first and ecas updates (much) later or does not update at all for most cases

simple answer is - it all depends on your local office and the officer.

if you are lucky, you could get an ecas update and the letter follows after and such are the words used in the ecas - this is the normal way of doing their business but its not always...

you could get the letter, write the test/oath, and then get an ecas update.

you could get the test/oath, get an ecas update and then do the test/oath...

look at the pattern of your local office and see whats happening there... do not compare your office with the rest in Canada.

good luck,

Hi there,
I had my test in Kitchener office on Aug 5th and soon after my E-cas changed to decision made but there is nothing about my test invite in my E-cas update. The last update was in June when my file was transferred!
I did get the invite by mail though so don't rely on the E-cas as it might not get regularly updated!
Good luck
