Tenant insurance suggestions

Hey Guys,

Recently I moved to Halifax for my business needs. I'm from India, and five years back, I came to Canada, and since then, I have been living with my Uncle in Alberta. So I'm not much familiar with the insurance systems here. I plan to rent an apartment in Halifax.

Is there anyone here who recently took tenant's insurance coverage? What are the things that a tenant insurance covers? Please share your suggestions.

Tenant insurance covers your property in case of theft or damage, and some of your liability in case you damage the apartment.

Will also provide alternate housing should there be a fire, flood, etc.

If you have a car insurance, check with your insurance provider to see they offer tenant insurance. It is usually cheap to get both car and tenant insurance from the same company. You can also do online quotes for tenant insurance and compare them.
