We are planning to visit Canada during the next few months and would like to know a few things before we take the big step to migrate:
We are from Namibia and according to the Canadian Immigration website we are exempted from visas to visit Canada. Apparently we can board a plane and get our temporary residence visa at the port of arrival in Canada, so no need to apply beforehand at the Canadian High Commission in Pretoria.
My question now is ... can we as Namibians then fly to Canada, get our temporary residence visa on the airport at Vancouver and start looking for jobs whilst in Canada? And if we do get a job offer do we need to leave the country or can we start with the proceedings while still in Canada?
Other scenario is if we receive a job offer while still in Namibia, can we then fly over to Canada and start the proceedings there?
Please advise as all of this is so mind boggling.
Many thanks, and looking forward to your advice.
