Yes, u can apply for OHIP as soon as u establish residential ties... but it will be "Activated" 'only' after 3 months.
Dear Qorax jee,
Can you kindly advise on following. I would rather request you to please make a separate thread regarding Health and Medical Cover for Pregnant Women Landing in Canada under FSW scheme. I am struggling and not finding enough of information on following points
Pleasse guide
My husband is the principle applicant and we are on the final stage of our case. Hopefully we will get our visas by start/mid of july 2012.
As per profession and experience of my hubby, toronto/ON is the best choice to land in.
We are also expecting our baby in mid Nov. 2012 and concerned about health facility provision there in ON. What is best option we can have;
- Should we land together at the earliest ( say 01 aug ) wait for health card till 30 Oct and take the risk of three months without health cover.
- or Should we land together and I should return after couple of days back to h.country and return after few months of the birth (say next mar/apr)
- or Should I stay back home till the baby arrives and then fly in two months after the birth (will have visa till next apr '13)
Feel so tentative and nerves in absence of a clear information
Please help and write in detail
Thanks

Hi Guys,

Pre Landing Insurance

I have taken International Travel Insurance from ICICI lambard here in India, which covers health insurance too for 90 days for Immigrants. I got it for 5774 Indian rupees which covers upto 1,00,000 USD health insurance plus a lot of other things like passport/documents lost, flight delays, baggage delays, missing connecting flights etc. And it does not require to have return ticket mandatory as I read in Master thread that we need to have return ticket for Health insurance from our home country to get these kind of policies.

Thanks.

Instead of typing 1,00,000 USD, which is a typo, wouldn't it be easier to write "one million" instead?
