Telephonic interview from universities ??

Hi all,
I am applying to canadian universities and I wanted to know that is there any telephonic interview conducted by the universities to assess the student's capability ???

Also, when applying do I need to send my original documents with my application OR the photocopy ?

I have never heard of any telephonic interview from Universities. but this is what "I" haven't heard. do not quote me on this.

plus, you can send the scanned documents to the institutions you're interested in. OR you can ask them if they need the originals instead?
