Has anyone here who had a scar on the lungs due to previous tuberculosis infection (but is already negative for sputum culture) and successfully landed as a permanent resident in Canada?

If you ( or the person who has the said problem) are already covered with provincial health insurance, get an appointment with the family doctor. Everything will be taken care of. No need to worry at all. :D

Jane is not worried about the disease; she is wondering what experiences others with resolved TB had in the processing of their applications for permanent residence.

Her TB has been treated and has been resolved.

However, I don't know the answer to her question. Anyone?

If it's a family sponsorship, isn't it not medical inadmissible?

TB is still a 'danger to the public' so it has to be latent or whatever before you can enter Canada.. after having treatment and sputum tests coming clean I think it's usually fine.

This is the procedure for TB:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/partner/pp/pdf/IMEI_Tuberculosis.pdf

From the looks of it once it's latent an inactive, it should be OK. I've heard that sometimes after landing they will ask the new PR to be under watch for some time. I looked for references just now on google but couldn't find anything. I hope someone will have a reference to post here.

I did my medicals March 28 but got AOR two weeks later. I had a case of extra pulmonary TB that was being treated. I delayed medicals and submission of application because i wanted to conclude the six months treatment which was to be concluded March 26. Unfortunately, the centre treating the case decided to extend the treatment by two months for no justifiable reason. I disclosed all these to the doctor during the test even though I came with a progress report from the hospital I was getting treatment from. During the medical exam, they requested I went for Hepatitis tests and for the kids and my spouse to do the skin test, and also for the kids (4 and 2 years old) to have xrays done.
Good thing all came out fine as i requested copy of my result. However, a day after I submitted the PR application, the clinic where our medical tests were carried out called and requested letter of completion of treatment. Since my treatment had been extended by two months, I had to wait. After about 56 days of getting AOR, I got the letter showing that treatment had been concluded and I was cleared. The following week, the clinic called that I come over for another chest xray. That was done at AOR day 62. At AOR 64, my status changed saying that my medical exam was being reviewed. Today, I am almost AOR day 70 and status remain the same.

Please what do you think would follow. Thanks
