Hello,

i was in Canada to the end of July 2022 . I left Canada for health issues in august 2022 and I’m not sure when I’ll be back. It might be a year or 2 until I get better . Since I worked and received EI until July 2022 I think I will need to file taxes next year right ? But since I won’t be in Canada on December 31 is that a problem ?
can I use my family’s address as my address to file my taxes ?
anyone has been in this situation ? Will I have to pay taxes or receive reimbursement? I’m a Canadian citizen

thank you

You need to contact CRA and they’ll determine if you continue to be a tax resident while you live abroad. Yes you’ll need to file taxes for the year 2022.
