Taxes for non-resident Common-law spouse

Hello,

My partner and I have been living together for 2 years now but he's been here in Canada on a visitor's visa as we are currently in the process of common-law sponsorship. So, I was wondering if I need to include him on my tax returns? If I do include him it asks me to provide his net income for 2011 which would be $0.00 because he is not allowed to work. There's also a question asking if he was a non-resident in 2011, and even if I select "yes" it still asks for his net income. There is quite a difference on the amount of money I would get back if he's included.

Has anyone come across this dilemma?? Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you!!
