Question for all US citizens residing and working in Canada: You obviously still file US federal taxes. But, do you file state taxes?

My situation:
  • US citizen; Canadian PR
  • Started work for a US-based company in 2020
  • I work as a 1099 contractor for said US-based company
  • I have a mailing address in the US (my parent's house), but did not travel to the US (or outside Canada) at all in 2020. Partially due to COVID-19 pandemic, but mainly due to waiting for my Inland PR application to be approved.
My query is if I have to file state taxes for the state my US mailing address/parent's house is in? Anyone know? As a US-citizen it feels strange only filing federal taxes, but this may be the reality of my situation. Thank you!

PS-Yes, I have already filed Canadian taxes, and yes, I know about the Foreign Tax Credit (Form 1116).
