Hi guys,

Im in a bit of doubt here myself, and would like to know what you guys think

I've landed in Toronto in February of 2018, stayed there for couple of weeks and got my SIN and health card checked. After, I returned to home home country for work till the rest of the year

Now, do i need to file the tax? or am I deemed as non-resident?

Thank you guys!

Given your limited "settlement" and, one assumes, no financial income from Canada in that year, you are most probably "non-resident" for tax purposes.

You need to inform the health authority in your province that you left. You did not qualify to apply for health coverage when you only spent a few weeks in Canada.
