This is going to be my first year filing for taxes while being married to an American. I am just wondering if there is anything about him that I would need to include? He does not live or work here yet. I know it asks whether you're married and what not. Just confused about what needs to be included?

Any help would be appreciated :)

Thanks!

Canadians do not file joint returns. You should indicate you are married, but if your husband does not have a SIN, put "N/A" in that box. You may have to print the return and include the information manually.

Hello cannuckgirl,

On your tax return, you may have the ability to indicate that your spouse is a non-resident of Canada.
