Hi,

Is there anyone who got the police clearance certificate from Taiwan, I need to apply for myself. In the application form, there is a field to enter either Passport or ARC number. The passport which I used while I was there was expired, so I am not sure whether to enter the old or new Passport number. I have tried to call the taipei foreign services division but the line is not working.

Appreciate your response if you come across a similar issue.

Thanks

Finally, I got my police certificate from Taipei police department. I feel, it is better to share because many people might get benefit of it.

Below are the steps if you live outside and want to get the police certificate by mail:

1. Check this link for process http://english.police.gov.taipei/ct.asp?xItem=1350829&ctNode=15874&mp=108002. Use this link to estimate the fees, address and contact details.
2. Download the application form from this link http://eservice.mytaipei.tw/hypage.exe?HYPAGE=form_download.htm&s_uid=019010. It's in mandarin, you can translate it.
3. Fill the document and mention the number of copies
4. Notarize your passport copy
5. Send the application form, notarized passport copy, money in USD and self-addressed envelope to the address mentioned in the link from Step 1.

Usually, they take 2 weeks to process the request and send it back by normal post, which they estimate between 2 to 6 weeks. If you want the certificate to send using EMS (Speed post) then call them (number mentioned in the link from Step 1) and ask them for the estimate to send in EMS. They are very friendly and helpful. I have received mine in 10 days using EMS (Taipei to India)

Hello, does anyone have another link for a English-translated copy of the form? My current work permit application's deadline expires in June 11 and it seems I don't have the right certificate (I had my father apply for one from our local police department and mail it to me, not sure if this is valid).

Hoping I can get everything and receive the certificate in time. Thank you!

I recently got my Taiwan Police Certificate for my PR. Since I couldn't find a lot of information about it, I wrote a blog on how that experience went for me. It was stressful but I was also very lucky to have a friend who helped me. I wanted to share my experience so that others do not have to go through the same ordeal I went through.
