I have been employed with a company for about 7 months (from Feb) and they have got ready to apply for my LMIA. But I have a confusion. One of the document requirements of LMIA process is a T4 Summary of Remuneration Paid (most current year ending). But how is it possible to have it from my company where I have only been employed for 7 months as it can't happen until next year. FYI, I was working through an agency with this company for about 6 months before I got hired by them. Please anyone Advise.

Thanks in advance.

You're misunderstanding.

They're not asking for your T4. Your company needs to provide THEIR T4 summary for all paid employees for last year.

Thank you very much for the quick reply. May I please know how that T4 summary looks like. Is it anyhow differemt from the normal T4's. I hope its not something they would refuse to provide.

No idea what it looks like.

If you have worked for them for 6 months before you got employed by them, you can certainly show them the proofs of your taxes paid. If you don't have a T4 yet, it's alright, just compose a letter explaining the situation and attach a copy of all your pays stubs within the application.

Essentially they want to know if your work is legit and you are paying your taxes.

Best of luck,

Thanks for the reply rezafc. I do have T4 from the employment agency.
But what about the thing said by scylla. Should i arrange for my T4 or the one of my company?

Yes scylla is correct. I just added my input to make sure you're not missing anything. If they are asking for your company T4 (which they will always do) then your company has to provide their T4 if they are asking for yours then you have to provide yours too. Just to make sure it is your company's job to prepare the LMIA, not you. Get some help from a professional if you're not sure.

Cheers,
