hello guys,

Is there a possibility that the visa officer will not approve my sponsorship application because I wasn't able to give them the Option-C and gave them T4/ROE instead?.

I became a PR last year, April 2009, got a job in May-Oct 2009 and went back in the Philippines to get married. The filing of T4(Tax return) in CRA is only up to April 30 and I wasn't able to do it because I just went back here in Canada last May 4, 2010. I explained on a separate paper though that I wasn't able to get the Option-C printout because of these reasons.

Is it really required to give them the Option-C? What will happen if you only gave them T4/ROE?
What 's the difference between Option-C from T4/ROE?

PLease help. Im so worried. :-[ Thanks.

as long u give them explantion why u dont have Option - C and u give thme T4 its should be ok

Im not sure what immigration would think, but wouldnt you have to file a Tax Return because you worked in Canada from May -Oct 2009? I dont think that Revenue Canada lets you off the hook for filing taxes because you arent in the country on tax day.

@ heatherusa:

That is also what i am thinking so i just sent my T4 and ROE instead of the Option-C.

You might also consider filing your taxes now, even though you are late. It shouldn't be a big deal if you don't owe money. That way you can provide your return to them if you need to, or even get an option c in a few months if they ask for it. That way you have it already begun if they tell you that they want it and it will reduce any further wait.

Thank you for the advice. I didn't know I could still file my T4 even if the last filing is only up to April 30 or I just misunderstood what you have said. ::)

You can always file your tax return, even if it is late. If you owe them money you will pay a penalty for not paying on time. I you skip a year and then do the next year they are going to wonder where the previous year is and that can be a red flag to them.

I don't think I owe them money because I only worked for 5 months and my gross income is just below $20,000. ::)
