Hi I have a question that I haven't been able to find an answer to. I am currently in Quebec as a temporary resident with a work permit. As a result, I have a RAMQ card. When I get my permanent residence (hopefully in the next couple months), will I be subject to the 3-month waiting period -- in other words, am I starting over in the eyes of RAMQ -- or, because I'm here legally and part of the system, will my healthcare continue without interruption? I assume that when I land, my current RAMQ card will be invalid. I definitely need to do something with my RAMQ card because it expires on the expiration date of my work permit (August 2016). Any help would be appreciated! Thanks.
