When you say that your mother got a TRV from inside of Canada in 2013, I take it that she has been applying to extend her status in Canada every six months since then?

Hi,

No, your mom must apply for a super visa from her home country. For this, you must be a PR + prove you meet LICO for 2 persons (yourself and your mom) + proofs of medical insurance coverage for minimum CAD 100,000

Here is the link: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/supervisa-who.asp

Cheers

its actually a long story we initially came to canada as diplomats since my father was a diplomat so adter 5 yrs when his job was over in canada he went back home to continue his job me my sibling n my mother stayed in canada so since feb 2011 she has been on visitor visa she traveled twice since then to back home now i will be getting my PR in a month jst have to do the landing within a month or so.

i spoke to some one who was in the same situation they told me that i can apply within canada for my mother's super visa but it will be like an extension for 2 yrs basically but since my mother doesnt have a TRV she has to go back home n apply for TRV from there but it takes almost 3 months from there n by the time she goes n sends her application it wont be worth it bcz her permit will be expiring nyw by that time, i guess i better consult with a lawyer or a consultant to get accurate info since im still confused. n i do meet the LICO n medical insurance coverage too

What you are referring to is Parents/grandparents - Authorized period of extended stay after an initial entry on a TRV.... this is NOT a super visa. A super visa will allow someone to remain for up to 2 years straightaway on initial entry without applying for an extension.

Parents and grandparents who are already in Canada on a temporary resident status may apply for an authorized period of extended stay - for up to 2-years - by sending the application to CPC-Vegreville..... whereas the parent/grandparent must apply for a super visa from his/her home country

Applied for Mom to get pending one year extension on March 16.

Last Year, Officer issued her only 11 months of stay.

Will share further details as application proceeds.
