raiden213, ask someone in Filipino store nearby or China town or Philippine Airline website. Just don't forget to remind them you need refundable. I hope this will help.
If you but your airline ticket in Canada you can also purchase Trip Interuption and Cancellation Insurance, I buy this in most cases from the same company that I used for my clients emergency medical insurance. Please read the fine print as always there are conditions that have to be met to get a refund for the airfare.

Hi guys,

My parents arrived today and they only got their arrival stamped and nothing else. What's that supposed to mean?

Maybe they were granted the 2 yr max stay since it the supervisa they have. I'm not sure if they really stamp how long they can stay w/ this new visa.

My MIL will be coming tom, hopefully she will get the 2 yr max stay.

Thanks raiden213! I hope so. They were asked only 2 questions and the officer let them go and said "your family is waiting outside that door go meet them now" :):):) God bless your MIL's trip and arrival. Happy Holy week to you all.

wow! congrats Moraine! :)
I'm sure you're ecstatic to have your parents here now! :)

Did they have to show a return ticket btw? I originally bought a one way ticket.
We are still waiting for their visa's to be approved. I now feel so stupid having bought tickets before the visa's were released. I was counting on the 14 day processing timeline that was posted on CIC's website. Darn it! LOL
Anyways, I am still very positive they will get their visas soon! I will keep you guys posted.
I am just curious and worried a little bit about the interview at the POE.

Could you let us know what they were asked? And what documents they needed to show? Also, what time did they get here and which airport? :)
Thanks in advance :)

MIL came today and was given 2 yr validity on visa. Officers did not even ask for return ticket from both departure in manila and POE in vamcouver.

Good for you and your family, raiden213. Did they actually stamped 2 yr duration of their stay?

Thanks dyan29! No documents asked at the POE only passports. No questions about return ticket either, but we just got 2 way which is refundable. Better to buy ticket in advance. We're in Vancouver. My dad says that he is positive you guys will get visas soon too :):):) the questions are how long do you want to stay in Canada and do you have a family here? My parents answered (in Filipino accent) you can imagine :):):)"2 years and more because we also have permanent resident application." Answer to second question is simply "Yes" the officer just said "OK" them stamped their passport with only their arrival date, that's it. The officer then instructed my parents about luggage an exit door :):):) They like their experience at the POE according to them.

Hi guys,

I have a little bad news to share. I called CIC today to confirm the authourized stay of my parents here in Canada. By law, according to the agent, they are only allowed to stay 6 months since the officer at the POE did not write the duration of their stay. However, she added, that when we apply for their extension, I should write a letter about what happened at the POE and that my parents arrived here with PG-1. We might be entitled for a full refund. Also, they received a lot of cases like ours today so they might work on solving this issue soon before we apply for my parents extension. I am still grateful for some reason. I just want to share this information for future applicants. I will keep you guys posted.

God bless to everyone here.

Hi guys!

It's been 5 business days now, since my parents' medicals were sent to the embassy. We still have not heard anything from them, and looking back at your old posts I realize it took at least 10 days after the medicals were received at the embassy before the visas were released. I hope my parents get their visas before the week ends :)

Also, I noticed most of you guys are in the West. Is there anyone in the forum whose parents came to Canada and were interviewed at the Pearson airport

@Moraine: I guess officers at the POE are not fully aware of the Super Visa yet... I hope by the time my parents and all other parents come, the CBSA is well informed already about the difference between a regular TRV and Supervisa :) Thanks for answering my questions :)

@Raiden: I think I will follow your lead and just get a one way ticket for my parents. I originally bought one way tickets and I cancelled them because my parents do not have the visas yet and I actually thought about buying a return ticket. The travel agent actually told me to hold off.

AS soon as my parents get the visa, I will let you guys know so you can celebrate with me. LOL
I`m sure you can imagine the excitement and the anxiety at the same time... just thinking what they would have to go through at the POE. lol

Hello Moraine, we were on d same boat. We filed for early extension and my PIL received 2 years authourized stay so they got 2 years and 6 months duration!

2-way ticket is not really needed. It depends on which agency you buy it.

Hi castillo10,

I'm not sure how you did it, but I learned from an immigration officer in my area that it can be corrected by sending application to Alberta through the TRV extension. He added that further instructions are posted on-line and when I checked, it's really there. So how about the fees?

My dearest friend in Ottawa just welcomed her parents with super visas. Her parents' POE was Vancouver and they got 6 months authorized stay. They are not concerned about it as they are busy planning to see me and my family here and the USA since her parents also has visitor visas for the USA.

To everyone, congratulations and God bless. God is good all the time. :):):)

ask ko lang kung anong mga documents/attachments ba ang pinasa ng mga parents mo?
- did they include bank accounts nila? cert of employment nila? land titles? or etc....
then, anong docs naman ang pinasa mo to support their application?
