Hello friends,
Me and my wife immigrated to Canada last year as permanent residents and are both working full-time here. I have a few questions on supervisa for our parents as I dont know much about this visa ( so pardon for any stupid questions): -

1. For what duration does supervisa valid for the parents?
2. Is it mandatory for them to make a landing here once they get it?
3. We live in Montreal - Quebec, so can they land directly here or they have to land elsewhere in Canada - Ottawa, Toronto etc. and then travel to Montreal?
4. For the invitation letter that we need to provide them for their application, is there a preset format that we need to follow or should it be just a regular letter?

Thanks in advance guys for your inputs.

Regards,
Jay19

1) The super visa allows the person to visit in Canada for up to 2 years at a time. I think the validity depends on the officer, you could end up with a single-entry visa up to a 10 year multiple-entry visa.

2) Not sure what you mean by that

3) They can land anywhere afaik (it's not really landing though, since it's a visa and not a PR)

4) Follow these instructions: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/letter.asp
There is additional information required for the PGSV (see the notes at the bottom).

Thanks Aquakitty for a quick response.

For 2), the one which you didnt get, I meant that if my parents apply and get the supervisa, but do not wish to travel immediately but after a few months; is it possible to do so or will it be mandatory for them to come/land one they get the visa? just like for PR, once you get it, you have to make a landing once.

supervisa is similar to other tourist visa except that's they can stay longer each visit.

so there is no landing and they can use it any time before the expiry date of it.

PR visa is actually a step of achieving residency in Canada (leading to possible citizenship). So it's very different from supervisa for parents.

Hey Guys.. follow up question..

In my passport the spelling of the middle name of my father is different than what's on his passport. So can this be a blocker for us to have the supervisa for him?

In my passport, middle name = chandra
In my father's passport, middlename = chander

thanks again guys..!

No one can really answer that question. If you have some doubts, you could include another document showing your relationship (i.e., birth certificate).

I'm a Canadian Permanent resident (PR), since Nov 2014. My mother got her multiple entry visitor visa to Canada for 10 years in 2015. It's her second visit to Canada since then. She is leaving back to India coming week (March 2nd 2017). Now i want her to stay with us for longer duration than 6 months. So which is the best option for her ? To apply super-visa from India or come back as a visitor to Canada and apply for Super-visa from/within Canada on her next visit ? Kindly advise.

I want to Sponsor her for PR but when i did a research I could found out that, i have to submit my three years, Notice of assessment (NOA). I got my NOA for 2014 but no income, as i didn't work that year. I have my 2015 NOA and soon receive my 2016 NOA. My income is good for the last two years. I mean i'm eligible to sponsor her based on my financial eligibility. Now when can i start her Permanent resident application ?

Is there anyway to submit the application in Canada or we have to do it from India itself ?

Thanks in advance for all your comments and advice.....
God bless !
