Please guide, how to apply for a Super Visa for parents. Please provide details about the forms needed and supporting documents.

CIC website shows the link below, but it shows the only form IMM 5257
Application for a Temporary Resident Visa Made Outside of Canada [IMM5257]
Is this single form is enough or we fill the complete application package for "TEMPORARY RESIDENT VISA"
Please solve this confusion.
Thanks.

Hi,

How do you satisfy this condition for Super Visa?

the person's family and financial situation
u need to have a copy of your NOTICE OF ASSESSMENT send with the application. LICO (Lower Income Cut Off) applies in the same way as it used to be for the family case.

Hi everyone,

I have 3 concerns regarding super visa:

1. I want to apply for super visa for my both parents. My father is 80 and my mum 67. My father is suffering from partial paralysis but he is mentally normal and is able to take care of himself except that he needs a walker to walk. Do you think this could become a reason for failure in the immigration medical exam required for super visa? What kind of illnesses makes the case weak or unacceptable for super visa?

2. Secondly, the forms are just the same for regular visa and super visa. How could the visa officer know that the application is for super visa.

3. My sister is a permanent resident in Canada and she is the one inviting my parents. My sister is not employed and therefore my brother in law will be providing his notice of assessment and LICO. What else is required as ''must'' to be submitted when applying for super visa? Is bank statement mandatory? The medical insurance has to be purchased by my sister or even I or my parents can purchase it directly from a Canadian Insurance Co.?

Appreciate your valuable feedback.

Thank you.

Hello Tariq: Regarding your Father's health, I am not sure about the Immigration medical itself but I think he should be ok. For the Canadian Medical Insurance, we can accommodate this almost certainly. If you are interested in finding out for sure I could send you a Medical Questionnaire that will allow me to confirm this. The insurance needs to be purchased by your parents, as they will be required to verify the answers to the questions on the application, but you could use your credit card or your sister's for payment. Please let me know if you need anything else. you can also check out my website at http://www.dfsinc.ca for more details.

There is no set price it depends on age and pre-existing conditions of the applicants. I would stay away from cheap policies they usually do not include pre-existing conditions.
If you need a price contact me directly.

There are so private companies like TIC, GMS, Manulife whose average rate is $3-4 per day Where as Not for Proft "Blue Cross" has $6.35 per day. I am wondering why they have high rate than private companies

Has even dealt with Manulife or other company?

Do they have cashless facility or reimbursement only?

I have heard if you claim one time during the year, your money won't be refund even if your parents leave before one year

Blue Cross has a better track record of paying claims, but their main business is not travel insurance so their prices are not as competitive. As far as claims it depends on the wording on the contract some companies I believe Manulife and Travel Guard and there are probably others will not refunds not only if a claim has been filled and even if they refuse to pay the claim. Please read their refund policy carefully including the fine print. The companies I prefer to quote do not have this, but all companies will not refund any partial premium once a claim has been paid, that is what insurance is for.

Once a medical emergency has occured you must report it to the insurance company and usually get approval for any medical expenses, anotherwords this is not a credit card from an insurance company that one can use up to the insured limit.

If you have any questions please contact me directly.

The problem with the supervisa medical insurance is that parents have to be insured for one year but not during their stay.

If they stay for 1 month they still have to pay the full year insurance which will cost each of them 4000 or even more.
You can apply for a partial refund once they return to their country of origin and assuming they do not have a claim. Read the fine print in the policy refunds terms and conditions. Canadian insurance companies are well regulated and stable, they are not their to rip people off. Be carefull of policies like GMS insurance which offer right of entry, these plans do not offer partial refunds but they are convenient so one can travel back and forth without havint to apply for partial refunds and reapply for insurance each time. You have to keep in mind that many people who have been approved for a visa once have also been declined the second time they wanted to visit. A super visa is a ten year visa, this was a very nice gesture from our government I don't know why people are complaining it took up to eight years for parent to get landed status to see their children and grandchildren, now they can do this in eight week as visitors.

Full disclosure: I am an independent travel insurance broker
To check out all your Visitors to Canada insurance options, you can obtain an instant quote from Canada's top companies by visiting :
http://www.bestquotetravelinsurance.ca/parent-and-grandparent-super-visa-health-insurance. No other website in Canada offers all the policies we do, and we'll be happy to answer your questions by phone as well.

By allowing you to compare prices and to review policy wording online, we add value to your decision making. We are a full service brokerage, so we help you understand your options in regards to changing the dates on your policy after purchase, in applying for refunds, or receiving extra documentation to provide with your super visa application.

Gary is another independent insurance broker who seems very active on this site. He likes to try to make it seem like any other broker doesn't do an effective job by presenting you with all your options, and that looking online for information is a bad thing "Call me and I'll help you!". Then he says he has a new website coming out. Or, he'll say that one company is no good, too cheap, or not trustworthy...you can see his posts on other forums on this site.

I do appreciate his call of concern. He seems to want to ensure that a person with pre-exisiting medical conditions will have the coverage they need to have if a sudden illness appears and a claim needs to be made. All brokers want the same thing. No one who is licensed to sell insurance wants to create a name for themselves in providing coverage that doesn't work when it needs to. That doesn't mean eveyone needs to buy a medically underwritten policy from TIC. Or that coverage from GMS is bad, or that Manulife is untrustworthy.

Travel insurance is a 'contract of definitions', and it does need to be read and understood before purchase. That's why we allow comparisons of exact policy wordings on our site, and that's why we encourage people with questions to call and get the advice from a travel insurance specialist. We'll understand your purchase decision, and guide you in the right direction, without bias. You can see by our website that we understand the issues, we offer the widest selection of policies to choose from, and are well organized. We go well beyond the service level offered by most brokers, the insurance companies, or any other online service.

You won't find any better prices than what we can help you find, http://www.bestquotetravelinsurance.ca/super-visa-insurance-bestquote-rates , and we work hard to ensure that you won't find better service or advice.
Get a quote from our website and then contact us at admin @ bestquotetravelinsurance.ca for assistance.

hey .. can anyone really help me?
Im planning on applying super visa for my mom and she is 47yrs old.. she would only visit me for 3 weeks or a month max.. Does she still needs to get the insurance done for WHOLEEE YEAARR??
Secondly, how much is she suppose to show in her bank statement? I mean shes not that well off and me and my husband are both working here in canada and would finance all her trip to canada ..So could a low amount in her bank be a reason for rejection?

Yes she need insurance for the whole year. If she only stays here a few month I would suggest a regular visitor visa in which case the cost of insurance is much less as it is based on age and cost of insurance per day times the amount of days you need the coverage for. I have had lots of enquiries from people and there seems to be a lot of confusion, you dont need a super visa to visit Canada. Super Visa is meant for people who want to stay her for long visits which are longer than six month. You cant have it both ways a Super Visa which is a ten year visa and only pay for a couple of month of coverage. I recently spoke to one company and if there is abuse I would not be surprised if Insuance Companies start charging for underwriting at time of application or you can take your chances and find out if you actualy have any insurance at time of claim. If the claim is denied than the person who invited their parents or grandparents is personnaly liable for any medical expenses. Please this is a great program but use it wisely for your specific situation.

Sincerely,

Gary Goldshmidt
