Hi all,

I want to apply to bring my parents for a visit on the super visa but am not sure which forms to use and what the fees are.....can anyone shed any light on this?
Another question .... is it possible to pay for the insurance on a monthly basis?
and finally, can my wife apply for them? I am currently a student and wouldn't meet the income criteria but my wife does....is that ok?

Hi,

If you are a citizen/PR, your wife can apply as a co-inviter, along with you, if your joint income meets LICO.

You can find more details/application forms here:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/supervisa-who.asp

Cheers

No, Insurance payment is upfront for whole year. If God forbid visa rejected they will return whole amount. In case they return after 4 months insurance company will reimburse remaining 8 months but condition that policy not used. I research recently and found punjab insurance have lowest rate in Canada for Super Visa

Good Luck

Thanks

YES, SOME COMPANIES DO GIVE U OPTION FOR MONTHLY PAYMENT. SO THE FIRST PAYMENT U WILL NEED TO MAKE IS FOR THE FIRST AND LAST MONTH PLUS ADMINISTRATION FEE ($50 USUALLY) WHICH IS NON-REFUNDABLE. AND THEY CAN ISSUE U THE INSURANCE

What to do for insurance in case my in-laws will be coming and going now and then? They won't be staying long periods at a time. Is supervisa the wrong route then? TRV each time or possibly apply for a multiple entry?

In case no claim made rest of amount will be returned prorate basis. People perspective can be different what i observe its easy to to get super visa as compared to TRV for parents and parents in law.

Thanks

Dear all,

I Have a Question regarding Super Visa of CANADA. My father-in-law recently got his super visa just for one year, but he applied for 10 year. 7 years Back he already got Canadian P.R but he did't stayed in Canada at that time because of his Government job in India. After that we filed a case to renew his P.R because his entire family is here in Canada, but unfortunately we lost that case. And Now he got his Super Visa for one year.

My question is that why embassy issued him a super visa of one year instead of 10 year?
My another question is that, Is Canadian embassy still looking that this person is interested to stay in Canada or not ?

  • There are two reasons why this could have happened:

    1) His passport is only valid for a year.
    2) Because of his past immigration history and the PR status loss appeal, CIC is concerned he has plans to remain in Canada long term.

He renew his passport last year, so passport is not an issue.

I will say that he is lucky enough that he got the super visa despite the loss of his PR Status. Immigration officer must have concern here as he might think that he can stay for longer period. I suggest send me him back on time and reapply again after 1 year he will get for max period next time.

Good Luck
