Hi there,

I would like my parents to apply for Super Visa from India.

My questions are...

1) Say, they are already here to visit us on a normal tourist visa - Can we then apply for a Super Visa while they are here in Canada from Canada ?

2) Also, what about extension after 2 years of stay in Canada on Super Visa - Can we apply for extension after first 2 years of super visa stay is completed ? i.e. Is it possible to extend their stay

Thank you in advance for your answers.

AP.

1. Yes, you can apply for Super Visa from inside Canada.

2. You do not need an extension. Super Visa is granted for 10 years and your parents/grandparents are allowed to stay for up 2 years in a row on a Canadian soil. After that they will have to leave Canada once a 2 year period has passed. However, they can come back after a short while and stay another 2 years in Canada.

Hi Steevy,

Thank you for your replies...

Much appreciated.

Cheers..!!

Say after 2 years of stay in Canada, if they fly to USA & stay there for 2 weeks & return back to Canada - Can they live here for 2 more years or not really ?

Thanks,

AP.

Anyone, please reply on my question below...

Most likely yes. I am not sure about the time they need to be out of Canada.

great. Thanks...!!

Can I apply for my parents super visa online ? In that case, I can submit all required docs. from here in Canada.

Parents are in India now. I started an eligibility questionnaire and found out I might be able to do so.

Just looking for confirmation from someone similar in my situation having done this successfully.

Thanks,

AP.

Hi Ap_123,

I am planning to apply visitor visa for my mother who is in India now. Can I do this online from Canada? What about signatures and supporting documents?

Can you please share your experience? It will be helpful for me.

Thank you.

hi guys
i m doing online application for my parents
i have few question pls help

1. Do i need to create different cic accounts for both parents ( when i created account for my dad, there was a option that m i apply for other family member, when i said yes. they gave me option for spouse profile too. e.g imm 5257, family information form, and other options to upload other documents.) so does it mean i dont need to create different mycic account for my mom. please help me

2. imm 5257 schedule-1, do we need to upload that form too, or is it optional?????

Hi IBM,

Sorry for the late reply. I think you can apply for visitors visa online, just follow the instructions on CIC's website under visitors & you should be able to. Please double check though.

As, in my parents case for visitor's visa we sent all docs to them in India & they applied via paper there.

So, I haven't gone through online app. process for visitors. sorry.

1. No, just one account will allow you to apply for both parents.
2. It's under optional list, so I guess so, but just fill it in, it's very short form & just travel history. No harm.

Hi there,

I am in the process of applying ONLINE for super visa for my parents & my question for Super Visa insurance is....

1) there is no place online where they ask for insurance policy document specifically, How do I include this on my online app ?

2) Is it possible to have their super visa insurance after getting a visa OR it is a visa requirement & need to be bought before we could apply for super visa ?

Please share your replies on these.....

Thanks guys....!!
