Super Visa - December 2025

Full timeline:

Applied - December 24th
Biometrics Instruction Letter - December 24th
Biometrics Completed - December 27th
Decided to do Medical upfront - December 31st; submitted via webform on January 3rd and receipt confirmed by IRCC on January 6th
Passport Request and Decision - January 13th; passport sent on January 14th via VFS and received by IRCC on 16th

During a call with CSC, they mentioned that the visa was processed as regular visitor visa. At first I ignored it, thinking they were wrong but @Hot2Cold 's story made me check again and it was confirmed that the visa is a regular TRV.

A CSC Agent sent message to the Processing Office & I also submitted a webform for reconsideration - January 21st
Medical Passed - January 29th
Final Decision - Approved date changed from January 13th to January 28th

Confirmed later with CSC, visa was changed from regular TRV to a Super Visa, luckily they hadn't printed the TRV and/or sent the passport back. Good luck to everyone!

My application needs additional medical tests, so will have to wait till that's completed.

I am losing my mind waiting for any updates. Any ideas on what is taking so long? Or any ideas on steps we can take?
We had applied for one person only (other parent is deceased). No previous visa with Canada, no previous visa rejections anywhere. No military history. Only a single 1-month long travel outside the country in the last 5 years.

Only a few questions.
- Is there any way to confirm if the visa that was approved was a supervisa and not a normal visitor? [Just being cautious after observing comments here]
- On portal, review of eligibility is still showing "We are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements." Is that normal in the first couple of days of receiving the decision?
