Super Visa - anyone applied as yet?

I'm afraid that it is tough. Moreover, VFS-India has made it pretty clear by stating that they value NOA most. They've also made their own checklist for Super Visa . Whereas VFS-Bangladesh doesn't have anything like it and yet redirects to CIC original checklist for TRV/Super Visa.

You cannot compare Vietnam with Bangladesh, in the subcontinent you have to give the VO everything possible to satisfy him, NOA is big on that list whether it be from this year or last. NOA takes priority over pay stub, employement letters, bank accounts as it is a goverment issued document.

My mother visitor visa last up to March 31, 2012.
Can we submit for super visa in Buffalo, and come back to Canada, and to wait for decision here?

I will be applying super visa for my mom once I receive T4 slips as I didn't work last year and NOA won't be good document to attach

My father died in 1992 and in his death certificate, home address is different then on mom's passport

Should I attach death certificate or not?

Also, my dad's last name is mentioned on my passport but its not there on mom's passport

Will there be any issue with that?

Your dad's last name is on your passport. Does it mean it's stated as your FATHER'S NAME or with your name? And correct me if I'm wrong, your mom's passport doesn't contain spouse's name. Or, you are referring to FAMILY NAME as a whole that it doesn't match each other.

In any scenario, since your dad is no more, it won't be an issue. You've to provide your birth certificate in order to prove your relationship with your mom (in that, your father's name may appear as well). But if his name mismatches with other docs (i.e. passport); you can make an affidavit for it.

I applied for my mother in law's super visa in Islamabad 14th Feb. I am currently employed full time as Assistant Professor at a Canadian public sector University. My income level easily exceeds the LICO threshold. But the problem is that I got emplyed in August 2011 (ie. 7 months ago) and before that I was a student, which means that I had minimal or no income before August 2011. I am afraid that If I have to provide proof for income for the 12 months preceeding the application, I will not be able to reach LICO level. I have provided the CHC with an employment letter from the university (my employer) which confirms my employment as full time faculty and my annual income. I hope they will accept it as it comes from a government funded university. But if they ask for 12 month income preceeding the application, I will be doomed. What are your thoughts on this?

Congrats imran007! Could you please share Super Visa timeline here?

Re: return ticket, agents in some countries wouldn't even sell tickets for visitor visa if you don't buy the return. Bangladesh does it. I guess this is an unofficial rule implied by immigration. If you buy a one-way ticket from here for your parents; they may still in problem when they pass immigration either/both at your home country and in Canada. Whoever landed here with Super Visa can shed some light here.

An easy way to over come this issue is to ask the agent to put the return date for 2 years. I am sure he/she will not be able to issue you such a ticket. Tell them that your mother/father wants to stay for 2 years. This should solve the problem. OR you can ask CHC to send an email to you stating that return ticket is not required. This Super Visa is a new thing and many people dont know about it, so such teething issues will come to surface in some time, and will be solved as well. In principle, you should not be buying a return ticket on Super Visa. If you end up doing it, get the refund policy sorted out for the return fare.

I called CIC about 2 weeks ago asking the same question. The agent told me return ticket is not a requirement for Super Visa and one way ticket is fine. There is no way my mom could buy a return ticket for 2 years. Maximum is only 1 year.

Regarding to application, the insurance could be bought after approval for super visa or before, that happened if I buy insurance for 1 year but they do not prove? Currently we bought insurance for mother for 6 months for 50000, can we upgrade the insurance?

It's one of the crucial things that you have to buy minimum of 1-year medical insurance upfront (with minimum of $100,000 coverage) and show proof of it when you submit Super Visa application.

You've to talk to the insurance company/ broker directly to find if you can upgrade your existing insurance. Most broker available in the forum are demanding that full amount will be refunded subject to Super Visa rejection.

No, they don't. But you should also confirm with local visa office (where your parents will apply) if they have imposed some extra docs for Super Visa (possibly not).
