I have ecr check on my passport. Will that be a problem if I travel? Anyone else who has this on theirs?

Sorry. it's vague. Will.it affect me going to Canada? Is canada a part of the ecr required countries ?

My mother has it on her passport for no reason and so do I. We atleast didn't hv a problem when we travelled to Europe.

Since the rules changed in India, they no longer just manually overwrite the ecr status here anymore. They have asked for a new application all together and I for a matter of fact know I wont get it before I leave.

Now, Europe, Canada , Australia,...171 more countries are apparently exempted from this ecr check and most of the Arab countries do have this as a mandate. I still needed a confirmation . The backlash is not being allowed to travel. So, you know.

Emigration Check Required only if are going for employment purposes in one of 17 countries (16 Islamic countries + Thailand). Canada is not on the list.
