It depends on how complex your case is. If it's a straightforward one, spending sometime on this forum and doing some research on IRCC's website will be enough to submit an application on your own.

You don't need a lawyer.

You can pay and get a lawyer's "help" if you want.... but, should you?

Honestly, it is not complicated to scan documents, save them as PDFs and upload them. Everything you need to know is in IRCC's website.

Thank you for your reply scylla. It is, but what are the consequence of me making a mistake?
Depends on the mistake. There could be no consequences or your application could be refused.

FYI - having a lawyer apply for you will cost in the range of $3K to $5K.

Thank you for your reply Wolfpmd3. I see, so when I do upload and submit my profile to EE office, do they open my file in next few days or a week?

Hi indianstudent96 and thank you for your reply. Complex how could you give an example?

Could you give an example of a small mistake to a big mistake that could lead to refusal?
Small mistake - address is wrong in your personal history
Big mistake - wrong NOC selected for your job experience, failure to mention previous visa refusals

Note that having a lawyer doesn't guarantee approval. Mistakes can still happen even with a lawyer involved.

You don't upload documents when you submit your EE profile. You only upload documents after your profile has been selected out of the pool and you receive ITA. No - they do not open your file in the next few days after you submit. It takes several weeks for processing to start.

Honestly, if you're really feeling that uncomfortable about all of this, just hire a lawyer.

Well, since I still have an ITA, I feel like I got one shot at this and if I were to mess something up, they will refuse my application and I will not have a second shot at this.

Again, entirely your choice.
